Conditioning leather question - please help!

Hello,

I really need some help. I cleaned and conditioned my ebony interior in my 2007 TSX today. Anyway's, I went very light with the conditioner, but even after the conditioner is rubbed in and dried, if someone sits on the seat, I get scuff marks when they get up. If I wet my finger and rub it, it goes away, but why is it doing this? This is primarily happening on my passenger seat. If anyone has any thoughts/advice, that would be great. Did I just go too heavy on the conditioner?

Also, is it really necessary to treat the leather/vinyl on the Acura TSX seats? I know that most of the seat is vinyl, but since it's covered is it protected? Any thoughts would be great!

Thanks!

Jeff

did you condition then clean?

i think the conditioner opens up the pores of your leather and leaves a residue on top of your seats as it pushes out the dirt, so try using the leather cleaner after you condition. also agitate the cleaner with a stiff bristle brush for leather itll get all the sticky dirty residue off your seats.

Basic Leather care –
Automotive leather care is a subject surrounded with misinformation and myth, products such as leather (Saddle) soaps, oil-based Conditioners, Neats-foot oil, and Hide Food still prevail as top sellers, albeit most are made for equestrian tack, Leatherequi, an oil-based product is also a very popular, that is used in a market that is dominated by pigmented leather with an acrylic water-based polythene protective covering; which are very different leathers with completely differing care requirements. The exact reason why this is the case is unclear. It’s possible that there is an association with old world quality (i.e. European automobiles with leather upholstery and real burl wood interiors) with these types of products, despite the fact that the automotive industry has been using water-based polyurethane covered pigmented leather for many years -
