did u apply it by hand? because if you did, i doubt it took off the clear coat, its pretty hard to cut through that, you have to have a buffer goin at about 6000 rpms with a wool pad, grinding on one spot before you even come close to ripping through it, i bet its something else

You may want to use a buffer with some really light scratch remover. For instance, 3M swirl remover...just get the HIGHEST grit you can find. I think it may be 1500 grit, but double check & see if ther's one higher.

I've come to accept the fact that trying to remove scratches only makes matters worse 99% of the time. In order to remove one big scratch, you have to put in a ton of tiny ones...what a great idea...

If you do buff, be very careful cause it'll burn the paint quick if you put pressure on the pad.

It also helps to spray some water on(lightly) after each couple of passes.

1 buff gently
2 remove coupound carefully
3 spray h20
4 wipe again with a terry cloth towel.

& repeat until you like what you see.

Just to let you guys know.....3M Swirl Mark Remover has very little abrasives and a lot of filler.

Also, if you spray water when buffing..it increases the cutting power, which MAY not be a good thing.

Try your problem @ www.autopia.org They know their shit!

3M is perfect for not ruining the paint. Better to start with a less-abrasive product & repeat steps than go hells bells & wind up with a scratchy mess...

Notice I said...Remove Compound...then spray water. Helps to see what you've actually accomplished with the previous buffing, removes any particles, etc.

Also known as the "spit-shine method"...j/k
