Complete detailing - Waterloo, Ontario

Hey All,

I have a black 99 3.0 CL...and it needs a little tlc that I just can't find the time to do properly. Just wondering if anyone knows of a place in/around the kitchener/waterloo area that does a decent job of detailing? I've heard of Fine Details - anyone have opinions? They charge around $120 for an interior/exterior job. Here's a quote from their site:

"Our most complete interior service cleans dirt, grime, crumbs, drips, stains, splashes and streaks so that your car will look and smell like new. The entire interior of your vehicle is meticulously cleaned, followed by a full exterior hand wash:
thorough vacuuming of entire vehicle ~ stain removal treatment ~ complete interior shampoo including carpets, mats, seats, doors, dash and console ~ van walls cleaned ~ interior/exterior windows and door jambs cleaned ~ cotton swab detailing of vents and hard-to-reach areas ~ full hand wash, rinse and dry ~ wheels/rims cleaned and dressed for a new look shine."

The package you are referencing is only an interior detail. Is that all you are looking for? Their exterior detail with a "machine polish" is $299. I would recommend going by at the end of the day and looking at some of their finished work.

and most places like that use cheap armor all dressings that make the leather all greasy and the dash shinny as shit. Because of this I won't let detail shops get my car, only 303 on the dash and lexol on the leather keeps her looking like new. Just take some time after work and do the interior one day and body another.

its more the exterior...

yeah...the interior isn't that much of a problem - I can take care of it. I use mother's leather protector...but i'll look into lexol and 303 - thanks for the suggestions.

but the exterior needs waxing/claying...and whatever else...and i don't have any of the equipment or the know how...so that's why i wanted to get it done professionally the first time and then just have to maintain it afterward...

If you want to learn, for the price of a good detail you could buy all the supplies and equipment you need (not to mention to be able to do it yourself next time for free). Post some pics and people here can give you some help - that's how I learned. Excel Detail is a great resource and has very competitive prices.

If you still want to have a professional do it, you might want to check out other forums like autopia.org for a referral. They get more traffic for detailing and you would be more likely to find a local.
