Coldest temp outside to do a Zaino treatment?

I'm just curious. What is the lowest temp outside that any of you have applied the Z1/Z2 or Z1/Z5. I was curious about the drying times at 50, 60, 70 degrees with low humidity (So Cal, Arizona, South West, & West)

Did you have to wait overnight for a complete dry at (50-60 degrees)?

I think humidity is much more the key than temperature. Zaino'ing at 55 degrees in low humidity (< 30%) is MUCH better than doing it at 75 degrees and high humidity (> 60%).

I applied it one day when it was fairly warm (70s) but a storm front was moving in so it was humid. It took FOREVER to dry. I don't know how the hell people in the south could possibly use this stuff!!!!

IF at all possible, I try to put the car outside in the sun after I apply it. It dries very quickly that way. Most of the time I only let it dry about 1/2 hour with the climate here. And even that probably isn't necessary. I think it's dry by the time I finish applying.

Thanks, It is been 39 degrees at night in Los Angeles and 50-60 degrees (but dry) during the day. I didn't want to keep the car locked up in the garage for a day or two to get the stuff to dry.

I guess I'll be waiting for warmer weather. I just didn't enjoy the though of driving around town with Z1/Z2 drying on my car!

Sal says 40 degrees F is the lower limit for Zaino. But I agree, humidity is much more a factor than temp. It can be 40 degrees & raining and I'd bet Z2 would never dry!

I didn't know that about carnuba. And soopa - that's why I use Zaino. Went 3 months personally w/o Z2 on the 'Stang. Still beaded water just fine!

Yea, my last Zaino application beaded the water for months... too bad the beads left water spots!

Still have to find a good detailer to get rid of these things.

Prolly gonna hev to paint my hood by now.

DAMN. Upstate NY sucks!!! Cant find one decent detailer in the whole area.

Oh no! I got some water spots on my last car (thank god the spots only seemed bad on the spoiler).

I found a great detailer (but doesn't use Zaino). He was talking about using a non-carnuba based "sealer" for long life, acid-rain protection etc. I really disliked the water spotting. Was your car fully Zaino'd when it got water spotted?

I'm starting to get concerned about how much protection the Zaino gives. (I really do like the pictures *and* already spent $$$ on all of the stuff).

BTW -- the detailer has been doing show cars for many years...

My last coat of Zaino was in October. With all the cold/snow/salt/ect, my last car wash was about 4 weeks ago.

This finish is still holding up strong, water still beads (the dirty black water that is). No problem with water spots.

My friend uses Zaino on her merc-benz. With only one coat done in the spring, and many automatic car washes, the finish was still good in September. That's mainly why I tried Zaino, I saw good results.

The posts about water spots on the old board did get me nervouse, and still does a bit. I am thinking of trying Finish First, but I think its really just the same stuff.

What is this permanent chemical coating stuff the detailer wants to do? Does it really last through car washes? And I guess you can't touch it up yourself if you get scratches/dings/ect.
