Question Coated or Non-Coated Leather Seats?

Can anyone tell me if the TSX Leather is coated (aka "Corinthean") leather or is the leather non-coated? Or is it a combination of the two?

I am trying to determine if I should use Leather or Vinyl conditioner on the seats.

Thanks!

"Corinthian" means essentially urethane coated leather. Everything in a car (aside from NuBuck) any more is coated. Otherwise it would absorb everything (sweat, coffee, etc.)

Arrow Coated or Non-Coated Leather Seats?

The following link makes a distinction between the two and is what prompted my question:

http://properautocare.com/classic-mo...opleatcar.html

If all modern leather seats are coated do I use a good vinyl conditioner on it? Do modern leather conditioners take this coating into consideration?

Just want to take care for the leather as best as possible...

Thanks!

Keep in mind the most of the seat is vynol, not leather.

That's part of the information I am looking for - which parts are vinyl and which are leather? Where did you find this information?

And...are the leather parts coated or not coated?

thanks.

The parts in the middle that are perforated are leather. The rest (sides, back, etc) are vynol. There have been a few threads on this so you might want to try a search.

I dont know if the leather is coated or not, but I use a general purpose product (303 aerospace protectant) on just about everything in my interior, including seats. So far so good.

I just used Griot's leather care on my seats today. Applied it with a cotton terry cloth and then buffed it some with one too. Did a nice job, left no residue and smells like leather. I sat on them right away as well, no greasy residue. Good stuff. It took me about an hour to do all the seats and the armrests. I use 303 on the dash and doors and weatherstripping and have been happy with the results.

Does the 303 make the dash shiny or does it leave the matt finish? Aren't the door panel inserts leather too?

Nice to have another Hokie on the boards!

I went to Advance and got a Turtle Wax protectant that says it works for both vinyl and leather. It has worked well for me.

Someone I work with recommended Prestine Clean from Leatherique. He's got a Merc w/leather and says after doing some research this seems to be the best stuff on the market. I looked at some detailing web forums and Prestine Clean seems to be well respected. It cleans Vinyl to. I'm gonna try some out.

Anybody else use this stuff?
