Clear Coat Rust?!

Does anyone know how to remove clear coat rust? I have 3 little spots of rust on my driver's side mirror. I don't have any paint chips or exposed metal so I'm confused as to why there's rust. Is this covered under warranty? Will the dealer fix this?

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

Also, aren't the side mirrors plastic? Plastic doesn't rust! What gives?!

its called rail dust and fallout. When the car is shipped here via train, all the kicked up iron from the rails is coated on the car. You will need to buy some CLAY from a place that sells detailing stuff and clay you car. I'll move this to wash and wax so you get good advice on how to remove it.

Wally World has the Mothers Clay Bar kit ... easy to use.

Most modern "Rail Dust" is more from snow plow blade filings or brake filings kicking up and sticking to the surface.

Here is a good reference thread
