Never Dull followed by some Eagle1 Nano Polish. The Eagle1 stuff is amazing, it really keeps the dirt off for a while!

What I want to know is how to polish away all of the fine scratches my Comptech exhaust has accumulated after 4 years. It could be much shinier if it was totally smooth.

the only way to get a really good shine on your stainless tips is by sanding....

Or use fine grade steel wool, that will keep the brush finish on it and keep it nice and clean.

It's a mirror finish, not brushed, but it's starting to look brushed

just get some 1500-2000 grit sand paper and start wetsanding the area...probably 15-20 min each tip...then follow with some mothers aluminum mag polish and a cotton tee or maybe a microfiber....you will know when the polish is working because the area will start to mirror and the shirt with the polish will start turning black...you cant polish with the mothers too much...the more the better....

vinnier, I picked up some 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper yesterday and I'm going to try polishing up those tips when I get my car back in a couple days. Should I do small circles or should I go all longitudinal lines?

Also, wet sanding is just letting the sandpaper sit in soapy water for half an hour or so right?

In wet sanding I don't know if you can have "too" much water. So running water over while sanding will only do good by taking the extra sanded stuff off...

yea, what i have done in the past on my motorcycle mufflers is just put my sandpaper in some water, and every few minutes dunk it back in there....cant have too much water...

it really wont matter too much which direction you go, but if you can see grain in the tips, go against it....it wont take too long with the type s tips, they are already somewhat polished...just wait til you can see yourself in them....make sure you use the mothers at the end to make it mirror....

no soap needed....just water will do....

how safe is wetsanding oem acura gold tips? Would it rub off the gold or fade it? I want to mirror polish them, but I'm a bit hesitant due to the gold color...

I wouldn't try it on gold .. the plating is pretty thin.

oh well....sucks...mirror plated gold tips would have been insane
