WINDEX WINDEX WINDEX lots of it and plenty of clean paper towels. if u got tints then us windex on the windsheild only. those professional glass cleaners make a mess and leave streaks everywhere. they are only good for tints. if u ever removed a sticker from ur car its the same as trying to clean up all the glue left behind. one try will not get it!!

From what I have read, Windex is the wrong thing to use on the interior of the car. The ammonia overspray on the vinyl parts of your dash is damaging.

I have heard as above, microfiber with distilled water followed by dry. Or alcohol used as a cleaner.

I have been using alcohol on a microfiber towel.

Here is a link to the actual microfiber WINDOW cleaning towels -- I just got some more, and they are specially made for WINDOWS:

http://www.properautocare.com/vipglasclean.html

The "Classic" people (same site) also have a deal -- you can buy 3-sets of microfiber towels at a discount. The set includes a single glass cleaning towel. Look around the site or order their catalog!

Just use a damp towell to dry down your windows. If your anything like me you wash your car at least weekly...I use the towell after I wash me car to dry it down then wipe down the inside windows. I don't see any streeks, best thing yet. --=Keith

ur right about amonia, just dont make a mess with it and ull be fine. barely any spray gets on the dash when u do it careful. plus once u clean it unless some moron touches it u wont have to clean it for awhile.

To tell you the truth, i always used plain water in a spray bottle with some newspaper, yea it sounds weird, but plain newspaper will not streak, leave your windows spotless.

Since I use Zaino -- I use Z6 after a water wipe on the outside.

On the inside -- I used to use some special lint free wipes with my Wurth Glass cleaner -- boy does it work fast and easy.

I'm using the microfiber with no solvents for quick "outgass" cleanups.

Just tried those microfiber towels this weekend and they work great. Works fine with water, but a little windex doesn't hurt for those tough spots. Just remember to spray it onto your towel, not the glass. Then you won't have to worry about it getting on your interior. You can also dilute the windex with water.

Although I spray the paper with windex using newspapers is still the best.

windex will not damage the vinyl dash, mercedes benz makes a glass polish, that dries like a polish, just buff with cotton towel (i think other companys make a similiar product)no streaks and helps for fogging

Hello Acura Service!

Welcome to the board!

I work near a Mercedes dealer and will call them about getting that class cleaner.

By the way, I have noticed from day 1 that the outside of my windows seem to have permanent water spots on them. I see them when I'm drying off the windows after a wash or while I'm just windexing them between washes. It also shows when the windows are fogged over.

What do you recommend to get rid of this?

Thanks!

My windows were really bugging me, they weren't getting as clean as i wanted. I checked in here to get advice and just want to give a big "thumbs up" to using newspaper. It really helped cleaning without streaking. Give it a try !!
