After 10 minutes of rubbing with Bar Keeper's Friend:

Now they shine!

I thought my tips were screwed. Where do you buy this BarKeeper's Friend? Not at auto stores huh? I'll try Turtlewax Polish w/ rust remover now that I have saw possible recovery. Great post. Definitely not a fail.

lol rust remover? if you have rust on your exhaust tips maybe you shuold get a new exhaust? but nahs if you just sit and rub a while, they'll shine again, but it helps with a cleaning agent like this i suppose.

Well the name of that Turtle Wax Chrome Polish says it has a rust remover solvent in it. I didn't mean that my tips are rusted through. Actually, i've used that Turtle Was polish on a set of rims that had surface rust. It took a lot of work, but they looked brand new when I was done.

If I learned anything from USMC OCS it is that Brasso will take care of any problem.

Great tip next time mask the plastic around the bumper , I see you got some "white" residue on the gray area ...I use "back to Black" a wax remover for such cases when I'm detailing and happen to hit a plastic/ rubber section....if I have a few minutes later I'll post the pic of the product...great job bring back the shine....

The white residue goes away with water. I took the picture right after cleaning. Good tip about masking, though.

Go you this stuff in the general cleaning section of your favorite grocery store. Same area you'd buy comet, softscub, etc. Walmart carries Bar Keepers Friend as well.

BKF is great. They sell it at places like Williams-Sonoma and Bed Bath & Beyond too. It works great at keeping copper and high-end cookware clean.

It's also really good at cleaning rust spots in your sink or other stainless steel items. If I leave a metal pan in my sink too long I sometimes get rust at the bottom of the sink, but a dash of BKF and it cleans right up. Great way to make an old stainless steel sink look like new again.

I'll have to try this on my tips soon too!
