Cleaning Bird Crap

So i have a 2008 Acura TL-S in red and find that it is like a target for these damn birds crapping all over it. I have paper towels and a spray bottle with water in it so if I see it fresh I can clean it right off. But I was wondering if people have any tips or alternatives for cleaning bird crap either when it has been on for a while and dried or even when it has just happened.

ONR!

and if its real bad, a MF towel soaked in ONR , and let it sit for a few minutes to rehydrate the gunk

I keep a bottle of QD in the trunk with MF. I spray the spot and let it sit for a minute, then wipe up gently.

hmmm...I may switch to ONR once my QD runs out.

The previous offerings mentioned are good. I also use hot tap water to emulsify the bird poop and wipe away with a QD and MF towel. The last thing you want to do is wipe dried bird poop. You will definitely scratch the finish.

Whatever you do, don't use paper towels ever again please!

Take your car in the shade, emulsify the bird poop by thoroughly soaking it and letting it sit for a while. Follow up by spraying as you wipe to ensure you're providing enough lubrication from the bird poop marring your paint. Make sure you turn to a new surface of the MF with each swipe for the best results.

Like previously mentioned, I keep a bottle of OID and a few MF's in my trunk.

ok, i know everyone is saying dont use the paper towels....but this is how i use a paper towel on bird crap....

i take a paper towel and completely soak it in warm water and place it directly on top of the crap...i leave it there for a good 5 plus minutes and then i just take the paper towel off and roll the crap right up into it...i have never had a problem like this, but i could see how someone could marr up the paint if they werent carefull...

Thanks for all the replies. I don't use the paper towel dry or just rub it across the paint and the dry crap. I do soak it but just looking for a better option and seems I have found it. However I am not sure what some of the terms you guys are using so please enlighten me on what ONR, QD, and OID is? I figured out MF is microfiber so that I will look into. Also if you can provide any specific name brands as to what you guys prefer I would appreciate it. Also has anyone ever used those micro scratch solutions for very light surface scratches?

ONR = Optimum No Rinse car wash fluid
OID = Optimum Instant Detailer, which is a:
QD = quick detailer

Exceldetail carries ONR and OID, among (many) other items you wish you could afford. Or at least that's what I have a problem with...

Ha ha...I just got back from a road trip to Eugene, Oregon.

There was a massive Butterfly execution...

Then they got in the wipers on the rental car...wasn't good.

My GF whined the whole way home that she was so sad for the bugs...

Which in return made me sad because I had to hear about it.

I use Soft Facial Tissue (Kleenex) soaked with QD. I also spray some QD on the area before applying. Works well for me.
