Claybar and new car question

I was hoping to Clay and Zaino this weekend but the weather doesn't look like it's going to cooperate. Freezing rain and high of 40 degrees (where the hell is Spring?)

I want to get a jump start. Is it ok to Clay over dealer wax. Then next weekend Dawn and Zaino. I don't want to Dawn now because that will take off any wax the dealer had and leave the finish naked for a week!!

if i were u, i'd just wait til when u wanna wash and wax the ride

i understand u don't wanna leave the finish exposed for a week

if u clay over the dealer wax, yer not gonna get the true benefits of claying anyway...u need to Dawn to strip as much as possible, THEN clay to get below the surface, option to Dawn again or use Z7, and Z2/Z5

Scooter - Thanks for advice. I'm just so eager to get the car on the road (it's been over three months in storage). I was hoping to get it all Clayed and Zainoed before hitting the road. Oh well, I'll just wash this weekend and then Dawn/Clay/Dawn/Zaino next weekend.

Is that the way you are supposed to do it? Are you supposed to DAWN again after claying?

up to u...i would simply b/c when u clay, yer getting underneath the surface and exposing everything u can, and it would b more beneficial to u to have the area as clean as possible before Z'ing...u wouldn't wanna Z where's there's first left over here and there, would u??
