I use the Mothers Clay bar, and the lube in it is just the Mothers Quick detailer 'Wipe-N-Shine'

I've used the mother's product like Chops and I have also used soapy water as a lube, and I found the soapy water works better.

I use soapy water too. Makes claying easier and much faster to do.

I use detailing sprays or car wash and water mix if I'm out, I prefer detaling sprays though.

Would using a QD spray while claying affect the application of compounds, polishes, or glazes afterwards?

Compounds or polish would remove the QD, but it's not their purpose.

well the purpose of a polish is to remove things like QD, previous wax's, etc on there. Blemishes, etc.

I'm over dawn, a polish will remove whatever dawn would do and more. Move forward w/ a polish not backwards w/ dawn is my new philosophy.

Doesn't the clay bar remove all that?

I apply Klasse AIO and SG by hand after I clay. If I use a QD with the clay and/or use QD to mist my applicators, it seems like I need two applications of AIO and 2 SG to get good results. If I clay with a soap/water solution, and use water to mist the applicatiors, the AIO and SG work better, last longer. I might try the QD approach on 1/2 of the hood next time, seem if it really makes a difference vs. water.

I have always washed my car after claying, usually with just some car wash stuff, but if I don't it seems to leave a lot of excess dirt on when waxing.

All I ever used is soapy water.

I clay as I was the car with dawn. It works great for me.

Kill 2 birds with one stone.
