Car Wash??

Ok, so I moved into an apartment that I found out doesn't have a hose hookup anywhere!! I want to do a pretty full detail on my new car, but am looking for a couple suggestions... the nearest car wash is about a mile and a half up the road.

Should I:

Wash the car there, clay the car (it will be my first time with clay), wash it again (or not?), polish the car , wax the car... or should I wash it there, drive it home, and do the rest?

Just looking to see what anyone thinks about this... didn't know when the best time for the drive home would be, since it will get a little dirty on the ride home.

Better to do everything in one shot before I get it a little dirty between steps? Or better to wash it and drive it home and polish and wax in the shade? Or wash it, then drive home, clay it, polish, and wax? Just need to know which would be the best step to do after possibly getting it a little dirty after the wash... thanks!

Incorporate the washing and claying. You can do it there if an area is available. If not, take it back to the complex and find a nice shaded spot and press on. A mile and a half drive will not get it dirty and will remove residual water. A simple wipe down with your moistened WW towel should remove the light dusting. Proceed with the polishing and waxing.

Do yourself a favor and switch to using a product like Optimum No-Rinse Wash and Shine. I have been using this at my apartment since there are no external hose hookups and it works amazingly. This way, you can wash and detail all at once.

I hope you've been doing arobic exercise because what you mentioned is going to take a lot of time and energy. Prob lots of beer too.
Since you are living in an apartment, like CGTSX2004 suggested, just pick up a bottle of optimum NRWS. You probably will end up using it. If your car is clean when you clay, you don't need to wash it again. Just wipe off the QD completely. I hope you have a PC because that will make your life so much easier when you polish and wax. gl
