The stain is from the acid in the bug eating your paint. I'm not really sure how to take it out though. Maybe a cleaner wax or sometype of rubbing compound, maybe a clay bar? And when your done make sure you reapply some wax to the area

cant you jsut go to the local shops and find tons of diff brands of bug removers? I dont know which is the best... i know the clay bar woudl work best but is there anyway to clean the bar afterwars? I have the Mothers clay kit and the clay bar is sooo tiny, anyone know how long you supposed to use it before gettinga new one.

This is kind of "a little too late..."

However, if you can get at the critters after a "run" with a water tamp, they wont have as much time to eat into the finish.

As I said, it isn't a solution for your current predicament, but if your coming back during the day, keep some a bottle of distilled water in the car with some very soft towels (or whatever) and tamp the critters down when you drive in (at home).

If you wet them down, right away, them will generally be easier to pull up before they start eating through the finish, paint, etc.

(just a thought....)

Get some bug and tar remover from track auto. I just picked some up yesturday.
But I also carry a gallon of spring water in my trunk. As soon as I see one, I get the water pour it on and then wipe it off w/ a paper towel and then dry it off w/ a terry towel.
