What tire protectant do you use? The cheap stuff causes your tires to turn brown.

Try cleaning it with a strong wheel cleaner (try not to get it on the wheels or rinse it off quickly)

This should help.

Make sure you use a gel and not a spray. The spray's seem to last for about 3 days.

Nah, just go to Autozone or the like. Try out Black Magic gel or Meguiar's gel. The gels also won't fling on your paint like the sprays do.

if the rubber is actually dirty I would first spray it with some simple green or some kind of strong household cleaner and scrub it with a brush. then rinse it off and wipe it down with tire wet gel. autozone has about 4 different kinds, they all give similar results.

its not dirty. the tread of the tire is a brilliant onyx, the sidewall is earth tone.

its funny though, i used car soap / house hold cleaner.

and it ended up 2 of my tires (the newer ones) became brilliant black.

the others were dull brown. Can the type of tire have something to do with this?

im riding OEM 99 CL 16''s on Continental ContiSportContacts
