Which is better: Meguiar's NXT or Zaino?

I went to Wally World (Wal-Mart) the other day to get some car detailing supplies and spent over an hour trying to decide which supplies/products I needed. Question: which product is better: Zaino or Meguiar's NXT? Waterbalde or microfiber or cotton terry cloth towels? Spray-on tire cleaner or the one where you can spray and walk away? I want to get the products needed to detail my NBP/ebony TSX that will give it the best shine and protection (interior and exterior). You guys have any suggestions? How about cleaner/conditioner for the leather? 303 aerospace protectant or Lexol?

if you have time and garage for Zaino, go for it. i don't think Meguiar's NXT is nearly as good as Zaino's system. if you don't have time, there are other stuff, since NXT is a blend, it won't last as long as Zaino.

I ordered the other day the Zaino Ultimate Protection Show Car Kit. I've heard nothing but good things from various websites about their products, so I figured I'd give them a shot. I'll let you guys know what I think of their products...

txathelete - that is the mother of all questions - and there is no ONE answer.

What is best for me, may not be for you. My standards and likes vs dislikes is different.
I dont like super shiney tires - i dont like oily feels - i dont like to spensd a lot of time on interiors - i dont like to be too fussy unless im doing a customers car.

I DO want as much UV protectio as i can get on plastics and rubbers and paint.
I do want to protect my expensive tires - and paint - i want the glass to be practicalyl invisible -

What I use . ..

Zaino on the paint -
303 on the rubber. plastics and vinyl
Stoners on the glass

Tires? - I keep switching around - right now Im using Stoners spray on and walk away tire care . .. BUT it doesnt have a lot of UV, so I put some 303 on first . ..

Microfibre - thats very important, espescially on dark paint . ..

You will never get the same answer from two people - try things out, dont close your mind to the possibilities that a $6 can of wax might make you happier than a $40 bottle of something else?

I returned the NXT today and I am gonna get some Zaino. Do you guys reccomend ZFX? I have a black nighthawk pearl TSX, so should I get Z2 or Z5 or both? Do I need Z1? I tried looking for this info at autopia but couldn't find the answer. Do I need Z6 too? Can I use Meguair's carwash or must I use dawn before applying the Zaino. I read in Autopia that Dawn will remove the sheen from the bumpers. It's been raining non-stop in Texas and my ride needs a lil pampering. Help. Thanks.

Oh I already have 303 and stoner's glass cleaner. Is Windex a no-no? Do you guys use glass cleaner cloth or newspaper to clean your windows?

ok - Black? Thats easy

ZFX - yes, its worth it . . .
Z5 - it will help hide small imperfections, and is very shiney
Z6 gloss enhacer spray . .its the most used product they / we have

the car wash is great - BUT not mandatory . .. its best to use one that doesnt have wax in it, there are some that dont say "cleans and shines" - thats a clue . ..

BUT, for the extra few bucks . . get the car wash - it lasts a long time - everything is concentrated . ..

dawn the car once - making sure everything is off it . ..
consider going crazy and getting a clay bar - no one ever regretted that - even if you dont get the Zaino bar - get the mothers one locally . ..

hope that helps . .

if you shoot me an email - I can send a document i wrote up for new customers - it helps walk you through the beginning steps of taking care of your car . .. there is lots more to know - but its the best start you could want, and then you can move forward into things like Microfibre . ..

zainoguy@durham.net

Dennis

oops - forgot the window questions . . .and the 303

great start . . .

newspapers arent the best thing - inks have changed alot over the years . ..
read your newspaper, dont wipe the windows .. spend a couple of bucks a get a class cleaner-type microfibre . .
in the US, you can get god MF from www.waynestowels.com . . and note they ar enow Zaino approved . .

Invisible Glass is so good, almost any towel will do the job though . ..
303 is great at its job also . . .

again, an excellent start . . . IMHO

Homer2, great suggestions but I still believe that nothing cleans glass better than B&W newspaper and Invisible Glass. I've tried microfiber towels, cotton towels, P21(i forgot the name) glass cleaner packet (what a f'ing joke of a product), you name it. And nothing comes even close to newspaper.
