Best Window Cleaner?
Best Window Cleaner?
This may have been discussed to death already but I am still seeing what appears to be water spots in the glass (outside), when I wash or clean the glass--like there is a permanent impression in the glass that I can only see when I try to wipe it.
How do I get rid of this?

I use a water bottle (w/ water) and newspaper. Pretty weird but it works REALLY well. I just got my Miracle Towels in the mail last nite, so I'm going to give those a try this weekend when it comes time to clean. Check out these sites and you may learn more:

I just put every coat of Zaino on outside of the windows -- it even helps protect them from small "hits".
I do really love the microfiber towels for cleaning the inside of the windows during a car wash/interior clean up. The Wurth glass cleaner also does a better job of picking up the outgassing than Windex.

Griot's glass polish -- made to remove water spots from the window:
http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog....1001&SKU=11063
Zaino also makes a glass polish (I have this product):
http://www.zainobros.com/files/order.htm
It is the Z-12
If the spot is "etched" into the glass, you will need to get a machine buffer to use with the Z-12.
BTW -- one of the two links just below your initial query is bad, but the other is a link to yet another place with great products:

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...

Eagle One has a glass cleaner that works great and doesn't see to bother plastic stuff.
Doesn't cost much more than regular glass cleaner.
I clean with three towels.
First a liberal spray of cleaner, then 4 or so sheets of paper towels, that I use to get most of the wet off, the a couple of paper towels to get it dry, then a old GAP cotton T shirt that has been retired to the rag bin. ( Must be an old shirt! ) I polish it one last time with the shirt.
This works great for me, and I think it is because it gets rid of the dirt, but then gets rid of the cleaner too.
I use Rainx on the outside of the windows every month or so.

One thing is for sure, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is! I thought, "hey, those new Armor All window wipes seem soo easy to use." Anyway, needless to say, they sucked. I have a full dispenser of these wipes as I have gone back to using the old fashioned method of chamois and water, cleaner w/ paper towels, followed by the old rag/t-shirt routine. Anyway, don't waste your time/money on those junky wipes

I stoped using the Armor All stuff -- I still have stuff left over, but I might as well toss it all. (I have other, newer, and better products...)
Those words about, "If it seems to good to be true..." are words to live by 99.5% of the time...
BTW -- I got a free sample of the P21 window quick wipes -- I would not want to use them for day-to-day cleaning, but they do actualy seem to be OK for on-the-road usage.
(I guess I'm going to stick with my Wurth Window spray and microfiber towels)
