Anyone else always dusting their dash off?

I keep a microfiber cloth in my door compartment and find myself everyday wiping off the area near the clock and my gauge cluster along with my radio as well. I even keep a paint brush to wipe the vents as I'm driving with the windows down to get all the dust out lol. Does anyone have any suggestions on keeping the dust off? I thought about using pledge.

Microfiber towels from my knowledge create a static on the material and attracts dust. Try using a regular towel.

It sounds like some of your military tendencies are coming through to your TL! It starts with the dash, the on to the floor mats, etc....

Be careful Marine!

after you wipe down with microfiber, wipe down the dash with a dryer sheet, it'll get rid of the static electricity and will probably help your problem

I share your frustrations. I also wipe my dash and navi everyday. Whats annoying is while wiping i can see the specs going back to the dash and navi. So what i do is crack open the moonroof to create a little bit of suction to suck the flying dusts. It helps a little but not enough to eliminate the dust completely.

If you take a 50/50 mix of Woolite & water and put it in one of those 2 oz mini spray travel bottles and keep it in the door pocket .. Just a light mist on a cheap MF will pull the dust right out and capture it .. none flying around.

I keep a swiffer hand duster in the glove box to give a quick dusting while sitting in stop and crawl traffic. I'm not too OCD about it, probably every ten days or so, but yeah there's a lot of real estate in our cars for dust to land on.

dust will come back after some time but you can try to keep it out of the car. Run the A/C with the recirculate feature (be sure to change the filter for the A/C every 30K miles).

As well you can use a product like 303 Aerospace Protectant to help "condition" the dash and help keep dust from settling.

The swiffer hand dust works fairly well in getting a bit of the dust off. Follow up with a damp towel and then with a touch of 303 and you'll be fine.

As long as these cars are daily drivers ity's going to happen. Wipe mine fown every chance I get. PIA.
Not a problem with my Mustang, although I don't drive it alot and it's under a car cover in the garage. That's a hell of a solution!

Thanks fellas, I'm going to pick up 303 today and see how this stuff works. Everyone seems to like it. Instead of woolite I think theres a can of spray you can spray to remove static.

The idea of the woolite is it removes the static but also turns the MF into a dust magnet so your not dusting it off one thing and landing on another . And unlike the Swiffers etc it doesn't have the tendency to leave a residue if just misted on the cloth.

I have tried spraying StaticGuard ( ) on a MF and wiping it on, but it didn't seem to either work well or last long.

i use a California Duster (dash size) which works for a while. But like most, the dust returns. The duster just makes the job quick and easy.

Question is the dash leather? I have been using some lexol leather condition on it for 2 years now with no ill effects im wondering if I am wasting my money using a leather conditioner product on something that isn't leather....lol

i use 303 aerospace on my 2010 TSX's dash and it's godlike. I NEVER need to wipe dust off. I just apply it on every 2-3 months. It also made the dash much darker.

I'm also about to put 303 Aerospace on my leather seats now that I found out that Lexol is practically useless on it.

I think you answered your own question

The same logic should be applied to finished (urethane covered) leather that is used in 95%+ of modern automobile upholstery

But then its your money and ultimately your choice
