Acura "Dealer" detailing
Has anyone gotten their car detailed at the Dealer? The acura dealer by me offer complete detailing for $149 +tax. I was wondering if anyone has any reviews?

What does the detail include? A simple detail (wash, prep & seal) performed by a pro can start at about $170. Check and compare services with some of your local detailing shops then decide. A good number of the members here DIY (especially the exterior).

i can safely say that I would never have anyone else spray water at, let alone detail my car, except maybe for Justin at autogeek.net.
in other words, stick away unless its a professional detailer, generally on his own.

its not terrible to buff without claying, just depends on exactly what you are doing with which polish and with which pad. Ex- not claying with XMT3 on a yellow will not yield bad results. however, if you going to do a minor ssr1 or xmt1 with a white pad, they you will want to clay.

i kno when i worked at honda/mercedes there version of prepping a car b4 someone comes to pick it up would be a wash n mequiars nxt wax. they're detailing i kno was outsourced. there was a shop called auto image that catered to performance, rims, alarm, and detailing, etc.. so they would run across the street n pick the car up and detail it or install remote start.

Before letting anyone touch my car, I would talk in person the the actual detailer.
If they are skilled at their job they will proudly show off their work in progress and probably keep a photo book of cars done.
Many do amazing jobs on the used cars that come in-
My Dealer offered a "complete" detail as a comp for some probs I had with them
Saying their guy is the best in the valley and I wont recognize my car
And I thought I was doing a good job already!
Still have to go meet the guy and see if he checks out.
People who are really good at their jobs, get jobs with security and benefits-the Dealer
Not as likely to be found working at the car wash detail under a canopy
