Acid Rain

Is it best for the paint to let the rain dry and then wash the car, or wipe off the rain with a terry towel while car is still wet? Also what is best way of washing terry towels?- will detergent be bad for car paint etc?

So you can use regular detergent but not fabric softener- good since it is getting quite expensive buying terry towels every time to dry off the rain. Do certain terry towels leave the white fluff on the cars more than others?- bought some at pep boys and when i wipe down a wet car some of the white towel specs are on the car- granted they come off but a bit of a hassle.
