64 and my first Acura. Have owned a Honda Accord and was impressed by Honda reliablility. I wanted an S2000 but wife vetoed, so Acura is a nice compromise, but not near the fun of an S2000.

26 years old and have been saving the past 4 years for this car!.. This is my first new car ever. I stepped up from a 94 Saturn that I won at an auction for $1500 with 225,000 miles on it to this I put 40,000 on it and had about $2000 worth of repairs during the time- NOT BAD!) ...
All my previous cars:
(Don't laugh! this is all the truth!)
- Now TL 04/ Anthracite/6MT/NAV/HS Tires/DeckLid/Added SubWoofer
- 94 Saturn Twin-Cam: $1500 Auction... 23 to 26 yrs old
- 87 Accord: $750 Auction..21 to 23 yrs old (Think less than $1000 worth of repairs! reliable since it's a honda!)
- 86 Camaro Z28: $4500 (ripped off - about $8000 worth of repairs).. 18 to 21 yrs old
- An ugly blue station wagon, 17 to 18... (I can't remember anything about it and don't want to)
- 82 Chysler Lebaron (my mothers), 16 to 17 yrs old...was the granniest vehicle you would ever see that got 12 miles to the gallon and was loud and abnoxious...took a full minute to get to 65 mph.

After years of buying cost efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly cars (Volvos, Hondas, and a Toyota) at 48 I decided to get something fun that would blow away some kids at the stoplight. Now that I think about it, the 2004 TL is all of that and still creams my brother's Q45. I've never been in a car that offers more for the money.
I'm new to this group and hear that zaino is very popular. Has anyone used Meguiar's Medallion Paint Sealant on an 04?

69 (and so far still have a self image of 16). I normally just scan this web site and the other principle auto general or Honda/Acura specific web sites without joining in the conversation. But when I took a quick glance at this thread and noticed few entries over 50 (and most much younger) I thought I ought to put in a word for the older folks who are just as enthusiastic about their cars as those younger. The lack of older folks' posts may reflect their not being oriented to participating in on-line chat groups (that is normally the case with me). Our 2004 TL is our forth Acura, following on a 1989 Legend on which we logged about 172K miles, a 1994 Integra (about 95K before selling it), and a 2000 TL 3.2 with 50K with flawless performance to date that we still own. Past cars of interest in my younger days have included a 1955 Porsche Coupe as well as several VW bugs. Also a 1966 Rover TC that had very exciting sports sedan specs for its day, but unfortunately proved to be at the opposite end of the quality spectrum that Honda products occupy. Nowadays I note with amusement that Mercedes in particular seems to have auumed the impressive specs but lousy reliability characteristics that manufacturers such as Rover established in the past. While we are very happy with our current Acuras and the value that they offer in their price range, I am looking forward to the 2005 RL that looks like it will be major competition in particular to such vehicles in its expected price range as BMW 5 series and the new Audi A6. Maybe we will see AWD-SH in future TL's as well.
