Basically an engine/fuel system cleaner for most engines.

It's your engine's best friend. Best maintenance cost that I know of! You need to stock up on it. If you go on Youtube, everyone is using it.

It's been used in the marine industry for YEARS but is MOSTLY related to winter conditioning of the engines (shutting down for the season or starting back up for the nex season). It basically removes carbon build up. IMHO using it on a car that you use everyday that is fairly new is a waste. These cars are ALREADY designed to be FAR more efficient than older cars. Now, if your car is three of four years old and you want to clean it out, run some through the gas tank as outlined in this forum....once (every two years or so).

All you have to do is remove the air intake snout to your TL
Look at the butterfly plate- its covered in crud. Now still think seafoam or some kind of cleaner is not needed??- then why do newer cars come with a port specifically to attach some sort of cleaning system!!

Anyone who understands engines knows they are huge crud factories of unburned gas and hydrocarbons- oil residue etc. That stuff gets right back in the intake and pistons, valves etc, and it clogs the engine oil passages too.
Anyone who says its just for storing engines has no idea of the many uses, in boats cars mowers- watercraft-jetskis and more...so probab;y not a current or ever user of the stuff!
The azinr threads have a lot of good info and practical experience from memebers on acuras of every model

I'm only a few years younger than you. I have a can in the garage. I've used it on boats for over 30 years. When I did my CAI on my TL 2 years ago, my butterfly was "pristine" so no point in using it at that point. But you do have me thinking that maybe I should look into it further on my 2004TL and see if I notice much of a difference.

I've used it on a few of my older vehicles. Works great. I don't see the big deal everyones making. If you wanna use it go ahead, if not then don't.

It makes a big differance if you have over 50k miles- that for sure
Will it help overall at 15k on a new car- not as much, but prevention is the key to
better mileage and healthier engines.
There are other products that do similar things- if one of us buys the 50 honda kit- that may be the new rage- but for now,,,,
after looking inside the Edelbrock intake of my truck- and my 01TL TB plate, I decided it was worth doing. Both appreciated it, and a spray of the TB plate now and then helps.
Great pic on another thread of TB crud buildup- the cranckacase breather tube goes direct to the intake port!

Your absolutely right. There are way too many threads on this topic and if the OP or anyone for that matter needs further clarification, I think a search is in order.
