Please continue to keep us updated. Do you think you could get him to do some kind of a group buy? Dozens of base TL drivers would jump on the opportunity to get this spoiler for ~$100.

Well hot dang! P.M. me when you are gonna sell it. I just put the base one on for now, maybe I can use it for a mold and make some... OR just make my TL look sexy

Whoever makes these can make a pretty good profit. Just look at how many members on here have bought the base spoiler replica from eBay vendors. Base TL owners would buy these like hot cakes if they're under $150.

Nope... I keep calling these companies, a total of 5 now and they all say "were working on it" I dont think someone is going to make one, all the aftermarket producers are in other countries and i dont know why they will not make one. If I can get one to it will be great. If I get ahold of one I will see what I can do about making a mold possibly. Well see how far I go with this.

Yeah you CAN put a base spoiler and it will cover up the holes if your tight on money. It doesnt look as good but its better than holes...

I wonder if a petition would help

Like get a list of all those interested in the spoiler and if it's big enough they might give in!

i would be in if they make a Type S replica. Would it be possible if we set up a group buy list, and send it to them. Once they see the demand out here, hopefully will push them to make one?

thanks.. i really dont want to spend 700$ on a type S spoiler... even if i do it might end up getting stolen again.. rather have 100$ base spoiler.

Okay, Sorry its been soo long, I had to take my car back to the Body shop all last month due to them not doing a very good job. So here is an ASS shot with the base spoiler. Everyone is still "Working" on possibly making a TYPE S spoiler.

This is a slightly old thread but I have been looking for a TLS spoiler replica for days now. I tried e-mailing bmwoemshop but he sent me pictures of another type. I hope he replies with good news about making or finding one. Did you ever contact the seller again to see if he can make a replica. Anyone know how to even make a mold for this? What materials would be needed to make the lip? I am curious to see if maybe we can work together to find someone who can get the ball rolling for us and make a mold where we can just send it to one of the ebay sellers and tell them here.. we did the mold part for you, can you make it happen?

I do know someone who can make a replica but obviously needs the original to mold.

Asking any local Type-S TL owner to borrow his/her spoiler for a mold is still something I haven't done because I figured most people don't want to remove their spoiler.

I've been talking to a lot of people. There is no OEM replica, there may be some type of patent where nobody can make them and sell it, not sure. If I can get my hands on one I can try and make a mold out of fiberglass but as you know these spoilers are few and far between. If I were to make one it would probably be fiberglass. Its not a hard process but its definitely a process and time is all it will take. Each spoiler would have to be hand laid. Nobody will make a replica that I've found. All the spoiler companies biy them from china.

I had a Type S spoiler in my possession to paint and tried to make a mold out of fiberglass. It turned out ok but the edges wernd as perfect as i would have liked them to be. I covered the spoiler in painters tape but part of it stuck to the mold so I scrapped it. Hmm I'll see what I can do... Almost need some kind of flexible mold, the fiberglass was too hard to remove

i recently found out there is an OEM decklid for base TL's, very similar to type S. I think it's called an aspec trunk spoiler. That was news to me, I dont think I've seen one in person before.

I found out when someone here on azine was selling one in the black market

Is the spoiler molded into the trunk like a M3? Ive never heard of this before. Might have to call the dealer, I usually know more than them anyway, if its discontinued they would never even know it existed

I bought this one on ebay for $40! Installed it last night and I love the look of it. They use 2 strips of 3M tape, seemed very sturdy but what do I kno We'll see. $40 shipped, hell yes!

Those m3 spoilers are too small, the base is bigger, but the type s is the biggest! Damn ACURA charging a premium $600 for one...

I am shocked that you guys have not heard of or seen the A-spec spoiler. It is talked about a lot on this forum. Anyway, I just got one and installed it this past weekend. Its the replica one off ebay. Here are some pics. I think it looks great, subtle, but adds a little something to the rear of the car.

This spoiler is a base spoiler, never heard it called an aspec spoiler, but it looks exactly like the same one.

I am going to assume that the base spoiler and a-spec spoiler are the same thing. I am thinking its the spoiler that came on the a-spec package cars that you could order for a base as an add on.

Prob right. However, the type s is a tiny bit bigger and aggressive! We shall find one! These damn companies wont make a replica and its pissing me off! lol

I've purchased all my Honda/Acura spoilers from here via their Ebay Store under the same name. The last spoiler I got was a OEM wing for 08 Accord coupe. It was painted for 109.00 shipped. Paint matched perfectly.

I got my car washed today and was comparing the paint on the car to the paint on the lip spoiler i installed last week from thespoilerstore. While it matches pretty darn close, it is off a little. I know though that Carbon bronze pearl is hard to match perfectly.

A-Spec and base decklid spoiler are the same.

I think I'm going to settle for a base decklid spoiler, just because it flows so nicely with my base rear a-spec.

The search for type-s spoiler is over, unless i find it for a good deal on kijiji.
