You have to look up "Magnusson-Moss Act" for details, but the short answer is Yes and No.

No, it won't void warranty UNLESS the failure is directly attributable to the modification. For example, a CAI has no effect on, say, ABS modulator failure, so the warranty for the ABS part should be intact. This is the crux of the Magnusson-Moss Act.

Yes, in the sense that the dealer MAY either outright lie to you or find some cockamamie connection between your CAI and whatever fails to deny your warranty claim. Depends on the dealer.

Excellent.. just did my AEM CAI. My vibration mount was in a different spot though. it was inside the engine bay as opposed to where the grounds are. Aside from that everything else was the same.. oh.. and don't forget to unclip your fogs before you go yanking on your bumper too much... lol

Would you even have to take you bumper off if the aem mount is in the engine bay?

well... it helps to make it easier to get it down there... Don't think it's absolutely necessary, but I'm sure it's just easier. Plus taking the bumper off is literally 15 mins. It's really up to you. I took it off thinking I was going to have to do that.

Saw the DIY install video. How do you take off the resonator box without taking out the front bumper? Will taking out the driver front wheel be sufficient?

Just take off the bumper. It only takes 20 minutes (tops) and gives you all the clearance you need to do whatever you want to do. The OEM intake tract can be a pain in the ass to get out---even moreso without removing the bumper.

It's not uncommon to get a CEL after install. The way to avoid it is to remove the NEG battery terminal before starting the install.

It should go away after something like 20 miles or 30 minutes of driving - long enough to make you wonder, but not too long.

Can't really tell what's going on in your picture. Which line are you concerned about exactly? Can you show a slightly wider view along with the close in view?

Bearcat,
Tks for replying. I just want to make sure that the coolant goes to these two lines. Im glad that other people have gotten CEL's before. I didn't unplug my battery until halfway through when I realized that the aem v2 would not fit through the hole unless the removal of the battery.

Looks like the Throttle Body coolant line?

You're in SoCal, right? If so, you should do this: Throttle Body Coolant Bypass (link).

I can't tell from the pics. Look at the pics in the linked thread for the inlet and outlet ports on the TB. If that's where you're connected, you should be good.

I looked at all the threads and saw where the tb bypass was unplugged and where it was rerouted too. I have my tb going to the rerouted so i just want to make sure i didnt put coolant somewhere its not suppose to be.

Is this for Full Cold Air Intakes only? Would a Takeda SRI be the same process? or would it even fit on an 08 TL?

Only the first link no longer works. However, a quick YouTube search yields the needed videos.
