With these types of people you need to gain their trust and not let that falter

Even though it takes more time to figure things out on your own
Seeking guidance and collaboration is not helpful for these types
It shows you're weak and needing direction

Not faltering is making sure you get the job done
Then triple check that the task / issue is complete, and catch anything extra

But don't raise additional issues, get that shit done too.
Only if it's a fire above your grade or outside of your department..
Then you counsel with boss first so they can make boss decisions with other bosses.

Then your boss will know you can be trusted to get shit done and not micromanage
Or find a new boss / job
