Still gubermint.
It's with my boss who hired me here. She left and went Downtown to another Department and she's trying to get me to go over there. So I'm just waiting for the phone call for my start date.
This Department I'm at now, isn't that great. It's unorganized (go figure gubermint) management is horrible, no guidance. Living 5 miles from work isn't what it's cracked up to be. Going back Downtown would add an additional 9 miles to my commute and an extra 5 minutes but it's worth it, plus I can take the bus again and get my daily naps and see all the womenz in short skirts Downtown and eat some good food.

Mine is gubbermint also. I'm looking to switch from one municipality, to another. Do you get extra days off at your work? I only get 3 weeks vacation every year (15 days), but I get an extra day off, every two weeks, which amounts to another 26 days off. The only shitty thing is I can't really bank those extra days off. No more than three, anyway.
We get a personal holiday a year and two staff development days per my bargaining contract. Attorneys get 4 development days. It's confusing as hell if you're new.
I'm on a alternate work week schedule so I work 9 hour days with every other Friday off.

8 hours of sick a month so 96 hours a year Vacation depends on how long you been with gubermint. 0-3 years is 8 hours 3-10 years is 10, 10-14 years is 12 hours and anything over 14 years gets you 15 hours. But then different bargaining units get different things. If you're are classified as confidential you get an extra hour of leave every month.

granted, I can't use that as vacation. You need to be legitimately sick... anything more than 3 days and I need to bring a doctors note in. Plus missing work regularly because I'm "sick" wouldn't go over very well. People would catch on quick. And fire my ass.
It is pretty gravy working at any of the municipalities around here. They all more or less have the same employment guidelines and strategies. There are 5 of them around here, in various sizes, fairly close to each other, though I'd only consider working at three of them, because I'd be commuting 25-30 miles one way, otherwise
