^ Agreed, and the AMG badge on the grille.

I do like the Petronas F1 colored calipers.

How does that happen with 10 miles. Does it have an accident?

My first in-person view of the Panamera Sport Turismo was yesterday at the Glen. Want to talk about a HUGE car! This thing has some serious presence.

Not so much really, it's kind of huge in a bulbous kinda way. It just looked thick in all the wrong places to me, esp. rear quarter panel from fender back. It's almost as if they pasted a Macan on to the back of a Panamera almost.

I'm sure it's function > form, but the little deployed spoiler on the roof spoiler looks odd to me.

The future looks bright for us wagon lovers then if they keep dropping in price like that. Can't wait to see a Jaguar wagon with like 35k miles on it for like 30k.

To me it is just like the transitioned a regular Porsche rear onto it. They got some 911 rear bulging muscular quarter panels. I think the regular one looks much better than the original Panamera and the sport wagon just makes it even better.

I have. I really liked it. I like the wheel finish on the one you saw better though. Otherwise they might have been the same setup of car. Same color and wheel design. Love it with a box on top too.

I do get where you are coming from though with it being a bit like a longer Macan. Honestly though are CUV/SUV not just lifted hatchbacks/wagons except for the ones that are built on truck frames? To me that is what I have always felt the Macan looked like. Just a hatch back they had to raise to sell in the US market. If you lowered that to car heigh it would not look much different size and stance than say a WRX hatch.

I agree paint matched boxes are the best. I really like the design of RhinoRack Box since they have a recess for the cross bars so they hug the roof more. They also come with a top that is gloss painted in silver or black which makes it easy if you want to paint match it to your car.

Bring the kids to school in style.

If you're into obscure, low-production German wagons, boy, do we have the car for you. It's a 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300TE AMG wagon, freshly imported from Japan. It's up for sale, and you should buy it.

According to the seller on eBay Motors, this 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300TE AMG is one of just four examples sold new in Japan. This car was built before AMG was merged into Mercedes-Benz, meaning it was originally shipped to AMG's headquarters in Affalterbach, where it was upgraded with a new bodykit, sport suspension, those lovely AMG monoblock wheels, Recaro seats, and a 245-horsepower 3.2-liter straight-six, among other things. It was then given an AMG VIN plate, and shipped off to Tokyo.

At a quick glance, this car doesn't really stand out as anything out of the ordinary, but on closer examination, you start to see all the little changes that AMG made. All of the wipers on the car, for example, are painted in the body color—even the wipers for the headlights. There are AMG logos stamped onto the lower bumper valance and each wheel, too. Another cool feature, though not AMG-related, is the rear jump seat, capable of fitting two short people (or children).

The seller says the car was purchased from the second owner in Tokyo with full service records (all written in Japanese). It just underwent a major service which is said to have cost over $4000, which included new rear hydropneumatic shocks, new spark plugs, and a new camshaft seal. The odometer reads 131,660 kilometers, or 81,579 miles. Find it here on eBay Motors with a current high bid of $5300 with a reserve not met, and six days left to bid.

The popular thing I remember when I Was heavily looking for a W201, was to re-set the neutral/stop position to vertical, ala DTM.

On high, it's a bit comical to watch it flailing across the windscreen.

Whenever you can attach a pop culture icon to a tangible good, you can guarantee that the price will be affected -- usually for the better. Sometimes that means Justin Timberlake will sell leftover French toast to the tune of $3,000. Other times, you get something like this -- John Lennon’s 1979 Mercedes-Benz 300TD. According to the auction listing, this turbodiesel wagon was the last car Lennon ever used.

Ordered by Lennon’s personal assistant on the request of Lennon's wife, Yoko Ono, this ’79 Mercedes made its way to the musician in late ’78. The mechanically fuel-injected five-cylinder diesel only makes 77 hp, so if you plan on taking it on a road trip, you’d probably want eight days that week <rimshot>. Puns aside, anyone who plans on snagging this wagon will need to be a serious Lennon collector -- or a museum.

According to the listing, the wagon was mentioned in his assistant’s book “The Last Days of John Lennon.” Lennon apparently used the wagon to haul music equipment to and from various studios while recording his last album “Double Fantasy.” The wagon also moved the master tapes of that record.

The downside of this wagon is that it’s not exactly original. The listing states that it has an older repaint as well as upgraded wheels. It’s hard to say if that will hurt the wagon’s price, considering the price is rooted in Lennon’s former ownership, but we’ll wait and see. The ’79 Mercedes is slated for the Worldwide Auburn auction that kicks off Sept. 1, 2018. If you know, or you are, a serious Beatles collector, you’ll want to head to northern Indiana and try your hand at owning a piece of history.

Hmmm, not sure about that. Looks uhhh pretty fugly to me. Like its got a tumor growth in the back. Similar to that C7 Corvette Aerowagon thing....not looking good at all imo. Sometimes the wagon look gets taken too far, lol

I don’t like that generation but that’s a true shooting brake. I like the execution but that generation is really dated now.

Yeah it would have been better to be the new generation. The worst part to me though is the rear quarter panel, rear window, and door meet up. It just looks crammed together. The rear end looks well done though.

If you’re both an Alpina fan as well as an E36 BMW fan, then this Boston Green 1998 B6 Touring model might be something worth considering.

While the car features Alpina’s classic Boston Green with Gold graphics exterior and is mostly stock, the 5-speed manual gearbox and lowering springs were installed after the car left the factory.

Despite this BMW not being what you’d normally call a head-turner, most petrolheads will certainly recognize what they’re looking at the moment they spot it.

Aside from the paint job, the exterior also boasts Alpina aero bits, a black roof rack, 17-inch wheels and dual exhaust tips. Unfortunately, there are a few dings and scratches, all noted in the Bring a Trailer ad – which, by the way, states that the Eibach lowering springs weren’t added by the seller, but by the person who previously owned the car.

Inside, there are adjustable black leather sports seats with contrasting blue inserts that match the rear bench, a retractable cargo cover for the trunk, an aftermarket JVC CD player, plus features such as air conditioning, Alpina steering wheel and custom door sills.

Paired to the 5-speed manual transmission is a 2.8-liter inline-six with 83,000 miles (134,000 km) on the clock that puts out 237 HP (240 PS) and 216 lb-ft (293 Nm) of torque to the rear wheels, getting you from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in a little under 7 seconds.

The auction ends in a few hours, and the highest bid sits at US$12,500, so if you’re interested, you’d better hurry.

Can't believe that body style is already 9 years old. Still love that design and those headlights.
