2005 Acura TL stuttering problem
Hey guys im looking to purchase a 2005 acura tl. it was great besides everytime i would get to 3500 rpm it would stutter and jump from 3500 to 3750. It also did the same thing when it was at 5500. The VSA light was on and the triangle with "!" in it. Its a manual transmission. It just got its clutch and flywheel replaced a couple days ago. Any help would be great!

check your engine oil level, spark plugs and ignition coils. Whoever claim they do the clutch job make sure they replace the flywheel as most of the time cheap people skip the flywheel when they replacing the clutch.

They had paperwork for both the clutch and flywheel. I checked the oil level it was fine. I will check spark plugs and coils. Is that the only thing that could be wrong with it.

Also the check engine light was on. He said they forgot to reconnect something when replacing the clutch and it came on because of that. He is taking it to the dealer now to get the lights cleared. I didnt get the run the codes to see if there was any more.

Oil, plugs, coils, EGR, APP sensor...I'm sure there are many things that could be wrong. Finding out why the VSA light is on would be the first thing I would look at.
Also to test the APP sensor theory....use cruise control to go through that RPM range and see if the problem is still there.

Don't let him sweet talk you about clearing the light, Your priority need to find out what cause all the light to trigger in the 1st place. WORST case scenario is someone bent their valve during "over rev"

Would you be able to hear the bent valve if it is that? The car sounded good no weird noises or anything. Im looking at it again later today going to drive it until computer resets to see if lights come back on. But thank you guys for the help

No, hearing a bent valve is virtually impossible. A compression test will be required, better still, a cylinder leak down test.

chance of bent valve is about .00001% make sure you got the car check out by the Pro first, at this rate I would paying some shop to have the car on the lift that way the mechanic can goes through entire car.

glad you got that sorted out.
I had a 'surging' issue with mine, where I would gradually move the throttle or even hold it nearly still and the car would pickup speed at varying rates (jerking). In my case it was the drive by wire sensors, shop replaced those and it's all smooth now.
