2004 Tl

The new TL goes into full production today, the 15th. My friend works for Panasonic, who makes our headsets, and he said he sat in 30 of them Thursday, and production statrts Monday. He even calls Bose....Blose.

I hated bose in my 99 and 02 t. I am a big Panasonic fan. I cannot wait for the new tl. The day will come when I can dump the lex.

This is my first post in a while. I got interested in this forum a month or two before the first Type S came in out in March 2001. I got mine on March 28, 2001 and have loved it since. I am not an audiophile so I liked the Bose audio. I loved the ride, power and feel of the car and still do. When I first saw the 2004 model, I just stared at it not sure what to think. A big TSX I first thought. I got the Acura background and screensaver from their web site and the more I saw the more I liked it. I am a true car guy from the sixties. Engineering, power and gadgets are my thing. You need to feel it wrapping itself around you and telling you that its the best damned car you will ever have. Maximas are mushy, the G35 is a feeble attempt to get my adrenalin going (the coupe is not bad) but Acura will always be that one better for my kind of car. I said I wouldn't do it. I said this one would give me ten years. But I can't do it. I have to have the new one. I have to feel that 270 HP. I have to hear that new audio system and try the satellite radio. I have feel myself mould to that machine and drive me into a daydream of surround sound, rumble and ass kickin power.

This was exactly my thought process. I love my '02 TL. I'm not the sort of guy who upgrades every two years for the hell of it. I was going to get the full 100k + out of my TL, then this comes along. I ignored it at first, thought it was a bit ugly, but when data on the features appeared, I started immediately planning. I can't wait to do a test drive.

Thats why there are more haters on A-TL.com, because all the second generations are so jealous of the 2004 TL that they wont admit it, and than they go drooling, and soon they will buy the 2004TL and I will laugh and say "Did u not diss this car?"

Please understand, I've never "hated" on the new car. I merely waited until there were credible facts to make an opinion. That's what most people would do before dropping north of $30k on a car, or even leaving a deposit on one. I definitely like it, and hopefully will continue to like it enough after the test drive to buy one.

Also, keep in mind that I would be upgrading from a TL-P, so for ME even the HP gains are more than I would ever get by spending $1000s on a supercharger, CAI, headers, exhaust.

Not to mention I get a new tranny
