I know, I hate seeing this....

There's no apparent body damage which leads me to belive that it sadly committed suicide...

On the bright side, they can just build another one since it's still in production...

Had it been an older model, I'd be really upset...

I like the description of the color of the RDX is "Burn". I hope someone wasn't inside the RDX.

There seems to be nothing to salvage and it is for sale starting at $125? House fire, wild fire, or did the RDX engine compartment catch on fire? There was an old thread of a 2014 MDX engine spontaneously combusting in front of the owner's home: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-mdx-...parked-918976/

I immediately though about that thread!!!

Could've been a house fire or even vandalism...

I sure hope that is wasn't an electrical/mechanical flaw for the sake of piece of mind for all 3gen RDX or Acura consumers!!!

The pictures confirm that the back door is plastic not metal. It just melted away. The other day I was going to put a magnetic school symbol of my grandson's college but it wouldn't stick, all plastic.

I was thinking it was a sh-awd model because it has all four tires are on each corner and the spare is in the passenger seat. Looks like the engine compartment either was the start of the fire or it just burned like crazy (fuel leak)? I'm amazed how either front tire/rim still looks (sorta) OK with the engine compartment completely melted?

Those wheels look like A-SPEC wheels though because of the fire charring.

I was also thinking about that thread. I would really like to know what happened here. The fire appears to have been both rapid and intense. Maybe the owner got fed up with his navigation screen freezing hahah.

But for real hope everyone was ok, we had a suv crash in the city here a couple years ago and the driver couldn't get out because her seatbelt was tangled up IIRC and she was burned alive inside her car. It was horrific just hearing about it. Can't imagine being the 2 people trying to get her out but being unable.

What could you reuse from something like that? There's plenty of parts you can salvage from a flood car but I can't imagine what you could use from a burned car. Maybe the body panels could be reused if they were sanded down and repainted. But even metal parts like that are probably warped or weakened from a ton of heat. That plastic and rubber puts off a TON of heat when it burns.

Wow. I was hoping to see the inside of the back so I could tell if the rear quarter panels are double panel or hollow.

Burn cars are usually sold as scrap metal but at $125 you really wouldn't be getting anything.

Is the scrap value even $125? I'm guessing it would be $3-400 if aluminum, like soda cans are...

Cara usually sell for around $150-$250 for scrap. So the $125 is crazy to me.

The tire sticking out of the front windshield is from 17 or 18 MDX Tech package. Why it's in a burned out 19 RDX I have no idea

The only thing I can think, is that they maybe had an MDX to was right next to it and burned too... The wheel was just loose on the ground, and thought it belongned in the RDX for some reason...

Think this coud've been a dealership fire?
