Passenger airbag not turning on despite meeting weight limit

Anyone else experiencing the passenger airbag off warning light when another adult is sitting in the passenger seat? I know it turns off if the weight senses that someone under 65 pounds is sitting in the seat, but today my wife who is a little over 100 pounds was sitting in the passenger side and the warning light about the passenger side airbag being off wouldn’t turn off.

When we switched positions and I sat in the passenger side, the warning light went off. The manual says the weight sensor is 65 pounds but that didn’t seem to work today.

A 2018 Accord owner claims to have experienced a similar issue. He said that Honda maintained their position that the system was functioning properly. It appears his case went to arbitration and a decision was rendered. He asked for Honda to buy the vehicle back, but did not provide any updates after the decision. I suspect either arbitration sided with Honda or Honda bought back the vehicle and he had to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
