Lexus Styling

Lexus has gone over the top in ugliness with their new LM Mini-Van, and the cost is in six-figures.

I actually like Lexus styling but this van is a little much. But the sad thing is, they will most likely sell like hot cakes.

Hate it, and do not like Lexus' grills whatsoever. The RX is great from 3 of 4 angles.

Remember when the 2013 GS 350 F-Sport debuted in 2012? That was hotter than hell!

I'd still love to have a new IS 350 F-Sport in black!

Very few cars can touch it, IMO!

Headlights/taillights look odd on lighter colors though...

I did NOT like the "boomerang" on the grills of the previous generation Acuras. Glad they went away from it. All the new grills are some of the best looking in the business.

It's only for the Chinese market.

But yeah, Lexus styling is a bit over the top nowadays.

IMO, Audi, JLR, Alfa Romeo, and Volvo are the only companies with elegant designs.

Rumor has it, that the 2020 IS350 will have twin turbos and I saw a few spy shots and if those are how the car will actually look, it will be a top seller. I might even buy another one! No matter what anyone says about any Lexus, no other luxury car maker can compete with their service and reliability. I had an 07 IS350 and currently have a 15 IS350 F-Sport, Super fun to drive and have never had any issues with either car. Just get in and drive and never worry. At the service level, no one can come close, I'm treated like royalty and even the waiting rooms are top notch.

Well, it's rumored to be a BMW power plant. Which, may mean you get to spend more time in that luxurious service waiting area.

I am serously considering getting a 2006-09-ish IS250 (350) to replace my boring Kia that I traded my TL for...

I drove a 2012 IS250 AWD which I thought was perfect! Only needed a little more power!

I can’t wait! I would proudly wait. Better than waiting in an Acura service area!

BMW power plant??? Again?

WTF, Toyota? Trying to kill that good reputation?

It's probably the only thing they really had going...

I try to avoid the Lexus service waiting areas. Sure, they're better than your run in the mill GM dealer, but nothing to brag about. I would much rather just take their loaner and get out of there.

As if Lexus isn't already overpriced enough. They want to go full retard.

I wouldn't even consider a Lexus vehicle because of the atrocious front end styling they have adopted across the entire lineup the last few years. Generally, form follows function for me but I just couldn't live with the looks of a current Lexus no matter how great/reliable they are. And what they have currently is tame compared to the abomination in the OP. Looks like I won't be considering Lexus in the years to come either if that is the direction they are going with the styling.

BMW is learning how to build hybrids from Toyota while Toyota is learning how to build turbos and diesels from BMW.

The new Z4 and Supra share the same engine/transmission.

The Lexus grill reminds me of those toys called transformers with vehicles that bend into robotic monster forms. It looks like the Lexus is in the process of starting that transformation with its grill design. To be fair though, I thought the TL of a few years back with all of its sharp angles looked like a Darth Vader form.

Me too...

In fact, I think it looks pretty good by todays standard.

Lexus doesn't think so and by the judge of their sales, their targeted market consumers agrees with them.

I am in the same boat with you guys. I think Lexus vehicles are solid and we'll built. It's too bad the front grille is a non starter.

I was considering RX350 and RDX but then just front grille (Lexus calls aggressive look, for me it's super ugly) made my life easy

I thought that was a photoshop at first.

Is that going to be marketed in the US? Who's the target buyer? Especially at that price point....

All the Asian luxury brands got ugly. That is why my 2015 tlx was turned in close to end date and got a 4 ring machine.

Infiniti is making a comeback. They hired BMW's designer (who designed the BMWs before they got gaudy).
