Any golfers here? How's the cargo space?

I'm just back from the dealer and although the cargo numbers on the 2019 are supposed to be a slight improvement over the 2018, I think the usable space has gone down as it relates to golf bags. In the 2018, I'm able to load 4 adult golf bags with spare room left for shoes and smaller accessory bags. I didn't take golf bags with me to the dealer today, just a tape measure. Golf bags require width and it seems that the width has decreased in critical areas.

So my question to you is can you fit 4 adult golf bags in your 2019? I understand there is more hidden storage for shoes and small accessory bags in the 2019 but I'm worried about the space for the golf bags.

Since nobody has replied...I suggest you take your clubs to a dealer and put them in the rear...if they fit, great, if not, keep looking....LOL

FWIW, the floor space looked smaller than I expected. But I have not yet taken measurements.

LOL

FWIW, I've heard of dealerships bringing the RDX to people's houses. Mine brought one to a lady's house who wanted to test the height of her garage vs. how high the lift-gate goes, which was also an opportunity to demonstrate the lift-gate's height adjustability.

I have done this with everything from luggage to dog crates. Specs are only a start. FWIW two small/medium size plastic dog crates will fit with the rear seats up. The rear window is set back in the lift gate, so it takes some courage to attempt to close the hatch over large items. Nothing risked, nothing gained...

Looks like 718 AP1's. How they working out for you?

The cutouts behind the wheel wells make carrying a set of clubs so much easier. My first gen X1 had a small cargo area, but it had cutouts so I was able to carry my clubs without folding the seats. Very handy.

I'm way overdue for new sticks myself. Certainly going to give the AP1's and AP3's a whack, but there are some interesting new irons out there for 2018. It's a good time to be in the market.

i was in love with the ap3s but just didn’t hit them as well as the ap1. The fitting numbers were quite obvious that the ap1s were the better choice. I don’t regret it at all. I used to play taylormade, but wasn’t thrilled with the feel of the new M series.

Did you hit the P790's? They're at the top of my [not-so] short list.

i did - felt harsh on Miss hits to me. But they definitely had some juice to them when I connected well. I usually miss thin so the forgeiveneas in thin shots is what I’m usually after. I played speedblades for 5-6 years for that reason.

Yes and thanks. I wasn't too concerned about a single bag and it looks like 2 or 3 bags should be doable in this car but the width narrows so quickly towards the rear seat that I don't think 4 bags will fit like they do in the 2018. I'll take a picture next time I load 4 bags to give you an idea.

I'm interested in this as well whenever you get the chance.

Thanks for posting this photo. Saved me from having to take my clubs with me for my test drive, since I have a different-coloured variant of that same bag.
