Gaaah!! Deleted navigation app!!

Ok, I'm a dummy but I would think that there'd be a message that says, "Are you sure you want to delete this app?" or something like that. Maybe there was and I pressed the wrong thing. In any event, I no longer have the navigation on my home screen. Please help! How do I put it back on?

Thanks in advance!

You might have to "restore factory settings".

Keikowacko,

I copied this out of the manual, maybe it will help.

All Apps list
You can select any of the apps from the All Apps list.
To display the All Apps list, place your finger on the
true touchpad and swipe right.

This information started on page 251 of the manual. Maybe something later would help more.

Oh, thanks for finding that on page 251! I will give a try. And if that doesnt work, then resetting to factory settings may be the next step, per Oblio98 suggested. But I will take it to the dealer since I will probably mess that up and launch ICBMs or something!

Just swipe to the third page on the screen. There is a list with check boxes of what you want to be shown on the screen. You can also move the icons around too.

Actually, it only partly worked :-(
I was able to use the Navigation by selecting it from the 3rd page, however, I cannot get the Navigation to appear on my Home screen. There are little "houses" besides each app but not next to the Navigation. How do I put it back on the Home screen?

It might be on page 2. There are 3 pages.

And you can drag the icon from page 3 to page 1 if that’s important. It will index downstream icons one position so the app in the lower right corner of page 1 goes to page 2 etc

On that page with the icons, the Navigation icon does not have a little house next to it, only HUD. The little house and HUD is next to the Phone and other apps. So I assume that the little house represents the home screen. I think I need to figure out how to get the Navigation icon back onto the Homescreeen

That means it is not on the home screen. See page 255 of the O.M. for how to place an APP back on the home screen.

■ To add app icons to the home screen and the head-up display*
You can add app icons to the home screen and the head-up display.
1. Press the (home) button.
2. Swipe right to display the All Apps screen.
3. Go to an app on the list, then press and
hold true touchpad A.
4. From the pop-up menu, select Add to
Home Page or Add to Heads-Up
Display*.

I don't think it's going to be bad - it's just new and no on e is used to it yet.

It's a PITA only if you accidentally delete the Navigation app from the homepage.

I do find this system much better than in my 2016 RDX (voice recognition never worked) but there are still weird things that I have to figure out. Like how to answer a phone call! There's no obvious phone button on steering wheel. Turns out that the little "wheel" dial thing on the left side of the steering wheel is what you use. Move to left or right to answer or decline the call...I think! LOL!! But I love this new RDX!!

Anything more than a simple "single push" to answer a call is insane. If you want to ignore or not pick up the phone you should just be able to press a simple end call button.......no scrolling through choices just a button push. All these "design by computer engineers" adds to more DISTRACTED DRIVING and higher insurance premiums for everyone!

You are misinformed. There are dedicated answer/hang up buttons on the steering wheel. If using CarPlay, you press the touchpad.
You really don’t like this RDX do you?

Or know much about it.

All very modern cars are having steeper learning curves. Fact of life. If someone does not want to learn how to use them, either don’t buy a new car, or tell the salesman to turn everything off, and don’t touch any buttons.

You probably need to get rid of your cell phone then because exactly the same thing can happen with it - or have you already because it's such a PITA?
