Can you guys recommend a place to get it washed? Preferably a hand wash/touchfree place, I dont take them through the brush wash anymore (learned that the hard way). Oh by the way I am staying with my Uncle in the Piney Point area, so anywhere nearby or on the west side of town would be best. Thanks!
Welcome to Houston I usually wash my own car but when I'm short on time I get my car washed in the Bellaire and Dairy Ashford area they wash my car for $17 plus tip of course. Hope this helps if not close to your area also might wanna try Richmond and Fountain View went there about 3 weeks ago they did a great job. Hope to see you at our next meet.

This is soooo funny. Im also moving to Houston from NYC. My first day of work is July 1st. I have a three year commitment at MD Anderson cancer center as a physician (heme/onc fellow). AND I'm also staying with my uncle till I find a place. He lives a bit far (in Katey). ALSO, I am driving my Vette from NYC to Houston (not looking forward to the miles, but should be an awesome road trip. Im selling my TL and I bought the Vette thinking it would be perfect for Houston.
You guys think I can daily drive a Vette Convertible year round in Houston?
Also, what are the good places to live around the medical center?

Thanks again everyone. Hope to meet you guys at an AZ meet this summer.

South Beach Auto Spa. This place is the BOMB. $14, full detail, all hand, and they do an amazing job. They even have a supervisor come ok the car before it's released to you. The location #3 is probably the closest for you, but I usually go to the one at 59 and Shepherd. http://www.southbeachautospa.com/#

Yes, Sugarland is for older married people with kids etc that are looking for good schools etc. You want to be inside the loop or near the Galleria.

Katy is a good drive to the Medical Center, sure you can daily drive your car with the top down with no problem. The best places would be like around midtown, the heights or even some lofts in downtown.

I see you selling an 04 SSM would you be selling it in NY ? I have the OEM rear and was wondering if perhaps you would want to trade just a thought.

Went to this place yesterday and it was awesome, they spent 20 minutes cleaning my car for $14, did a real good job. Also, the waiting area was pretty sweet; nice couches, tv, computer. Thanks for the heads up, ill definitely come back here again

You know what i've noticed down here? Everyone has tints, like 75% of cars do. And they all seem like they are pretty dark (20% or so). Makes me want to get rid of my 35% and go a little darker. Do cops enforce the tint laws down here at all?

Yeah but not as much I've only gotten pulled over once for tint in old car. My TL now has 5% tint so its really dark

Good thread. I'm considering a move from MA to San Antonio for work. I'm glad I took the time to read everything. It seems that if I get the job, I'll be making the right decision to go down there. FWIW, I hate the cold weather and rude people up here.

FYI the humidity in San Antonio isnt nearly as bad as it is in Houston

I'm actually not that worried about the heat and humidity. They way I look at it, we have an 8 month dead period where we're cooped up inside because of the cold and the snow. I've found it hard to work on a car in a few feet of snow when you don't have a garage. The trade off here is that I can still go outside and work on my car regardless of how hot or humid it is. I'll just be a little uncomfortable. I'm actually looking forward to the warm weather and friendly people.
