Howdy all, a couple of car meets coming up this month. Cars & Coffee, which used to meet the first Sunday each month in Leander town square had some type of legal dispute with C&C and as a result, the 1st Sunday meets are no longer called C&C, but rather the Leander Car Show, still held first Sundays from 11-2, early parking at 9:30.

Cars and Coffee has split off from the Leander event and will now be hosting C&C at The Oasis on the 2nd Sunday each month from 10-1, followed by F1 watch parties from 1:00-3:30.

I have been on Acurazine but not for a long time...and enjoy reading the kind of work everyone has done on their cars.. I have not done much on the car as i lack the worksmanship that you guys have..

Peekay, welcome. We just had a big Acurazine meet in December, so things have been quiet the last few weeks. For now, see above. Both events are held monthly and we attend sometimes. Let us know when you want to get out and we can try to get a group together.

 

Just bought my 2007 CBP base model with 57,125 for 16.4 before taxes in December 2012. Still in the honeymoon phase with my car and will slowly start fixing it up. For now all stock but has at least tint that came with the car.

Looking forward to meeting up with everyone on the next get together.

A lil about me. I've been into the import scene since high school and have owned a modded civic, rsx, had a 04 Acura TL but that was short lived, then on to a 97 Nissan 200sx SE-R that had 144k when I bought it and drove it to 267k and now I have my beloved 2007 TL

welcome, a little slow since the holidays but Cars & Coffee @ The Oasis is this weekend, if anyone is interested in meeting up.

Beginning January 13, 2013, Cars and Coffee Austin, the monthly automotive celebration will relocate to The Oasis on Lake Travis, the "Sunset Capital of Texas" with the F1 Watch Party Race Events hosted by Zinger Hardware, multiple dining options, additional parking, shopping and club gatherings.

Cars and Coffee will be held there each month on the Second Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm. The F1 Watch Parties will be held each race day at 1 pm - 3:30 pm.

Local shops where their specialty is working on import cars to get modded? I know many moons ago there use to be a place off of north lamar & dont know if there is the same one off of 35 behind Carmax. Gracias!!!

Rene doesn't work at Rebreu anymore, not sure which shop he is at now but chtrcy will know.

hey guys, thanks for letting me be apart of the forum, i've sold my car and have a sub enclosure and wheels available if anybody is interested.
the box is for two tens and is customized for the 3g tl trunk. It has an embossed acura logo and a carpeted face panel.
i'm going to put it up for sale in the marketplace but wanted to let some locals know about it first.

wheels have rubber, if so, specs?

 

General 215/35's in the front and triangle 235/35's in the back. rears are camber worn pretty bad and fronts are decent.

i'd like to get around 1500 for the wheels and 275 for the box.

I decided to get back into a Z, just to enjoy a roadster again for a little while, then i'll be back to wanting a sedan again. So maybe a 4g type s after this.

 

Get an IS-F or CTS-V.. best of both worlds.

I almost pulled the trigger on an '08 IS-F w/ 18k miles up near D town for $37k .. kinda kicking myself for not. I told myself I'd go at least another year without a car payment.

I'm looking to get the grill on my tsx painted, any suggestions on where I should take it? I saw earlier in this forum some people had mentioned Rebreu, but they haven't replied to my email.

I'm halfway around the world. If you guys are in town, you're fools not to go. Free paddock access, pit walks, garage area, $60 premium seats. I'd get inside corner turn 15 seats facing turn 11.

It's going to be very aggressive. With the wind and temperature fluctuations this week, the track is going to be wild.

Heard back from Rebreu, and they wanted me to bring it in for the painter to see the grill. He said that the paint won't stay on the aluminum, and that it would constantly be getting chipped. I asked about putting paint protection film over it, and they said that it's recommended that paint cure for 6 months before applying protection film over it. Oh well, I guess I won't be getting it painted. This is what my oem grill looks like, and I did an Gimp edit to approximate what I was looking for:

I'll be at the MotoGP race in Austin on April 19-21 if anybody wants to meet up at Circuit of the Americas. Never been to a race so really excited. Seats in turn 15. Any tips or advice is welcomed.
