XP on Thumb Drive

Anyone know who to do this? I searched google and after a few tries with different tutorials i can not get the computer to launch from the thumb drive. I did change the bios to boot from USB. Im trying to trouble shoot a laptop that wont boot windows from the hard drive and try to backup whatever files i can before wipe it clean and start all over again

check my software/tip of the week thread. In there I got an ISO of an Ultimate Boot CD. Download that. Then download and install daemon tools lite and install then restart. then download wintoflash. Mount the Ultimate boot CD with daemon tools lite then use wintoflash to convert the mounted ISO to a bootable flash drive. I've done this before, it should work no problem.

UBCD can be found here

on another note is there a way to boot a compressed working version of windows from a thumb drive. I was thinking of doing something like that on a netbook.
