Wyze Cameras
I am trying to solve a problem.
At home, I use an Amcrest 1080P PTZ camera for a baby monitor (841W) linked to Amcrest's live view app that I leave running on either an iPad in the living room or a cheapo Android phone dimmed all the way in the bedroom at night.
The issue is that when I travel, I want to have something similar, but smaller/lighter and don't want to have to take the large-ish camera down and bring it with.
SO, I picked up a $20 Wyze camera and a $35 travel router TP-Link N300 Wireless Portable Nano Travel Router) so I could pre-configure everything as the wyze requires a weird/difficult setup process. When I get to the hotel or AirBnB, just plug the router in to get a nice strong wifi signal and fire up the camera.
Here's the problem. Wyze requires it's wifi network to have internet connection. Super frustrating... I even tried using TinyCam as an IP camera viewer, but Wyze has apparently locked down their camera.
Does anyone know of any relatively small/portable 1080P cameras (does not need PTZ) that will operate on an isolated wifi network?

I should add that I am not certain that the amcrest app I currently use at home as a viewer will function without an internet connection, but I know I could use that camera (841W) with TinyCam if needed.
