Smile Wireless Keyboard and Optical Mouse

Maybe no big deal to some, but I just got the Logitech Freedom Optical wireless keyboard with a optical mouse and I'm liking it.

This thing has a pretty decent range, I placed the reciever high up by itself. And I could go into the other room and the thing works. Nice optical mouse with a thumb button.

Now I could control my comp from another location/screen. Niiice..

Just one concern though, batteries.

how many of those quick start buttons do you have?

im guessing the receiver has 2 plugs...one for the mouse and one for the keyboard right?

does it work flawlessly? i wonder how often youll need new batteries

Thumbs up

Great Choice!!

I have the Desktop Pro wireless keyboard and mouse from Logitech as well... Except I have the natural keyboard and a more erganomic mouse.

Don't even sweat the batteries.. I usually have to replace my mouse batteries about once every 3-4 months.. and the keyboard last quite a long time.. I think about 5-6 months..
But when your mouse is starting to be low on batteries, you'll start to notice that it's not as responsive when you move it around.. and you'll say WTF is wrong with the mouse.. when this happens, change the battery..
Nothing worse than booting up your computer and your mouse is dead..

Looking to upgrade my mouse to an optical one soon.. wonder if it works with the old reciever.. And I'm thinking the optical will take up more battery than what I have..

My experience is that the reciever doesn't work that well if it is too close to your CPU.. also if you have a Cell phone close by..

The quick start buttons are great!! I love the volume control and player functions when I'm listening to mp3s!!

Definately a must have for desk cleanliness!

I like it.

That looks like a great set. Wireless is the way to go, but the damn batteries will eventually run out on you.

The best keyboard in my opinion is the latest Microsoft Office Keyboard, which someone at Microsoft finally put on their thinking caps to resolve any open issues about keyboard functionality. There are keys all over this keyboard along with the scrolling wheel and so many one touch buttons.

This keyboard is geared more for efficiency at work when using MS Office of course, but hey we are guys, we always like the latest and greatest with new features.

$50 at your local Sam's Club. $60 Elsewhere. Bundle it with a MS Intellimouse Optical and you are all set.

Photo attached.

Wireless mouse is fine, but wireless keyboard? NO way!

That Office keyboard looks kind tight...

I loved my wireless mouse and keyboard. But, eventually they
we thrown in the back of the parts bin. Wireless wasn't so hot
for gaming.

mr tl, the keyboard has like nine quick start buttons, it comes set on specific sites that Logitech probably wants us to go to but it can be changed to any site easily. It also has a quick "favorite" button, a scroll on the left of the keyboard along with a go and back button. A quick e-mail and the usual audio yada yada yada. The volume being a flat round knob is nice. Much quicker spinning it then pushing a button.

And your right about the reciver having two plugs like you said. It can also hook up by USB but the instructions recommended the other way.

And so far it's working fine, I only had it for a day so I need more time with it to really give a good opinion on it. I don't play any games so I have no idea about Closer's coments but it makes sense.

And hopefully Edub-TL's comment on battery life goes for this model to, though the optical mouse must to eat up more juice.

Ahhh, typed this post with the keyboard on my lap. Com-for-ta-ble
