windows xp installed, now what???
I just installed windows xp (it was an upgrade from windows XP) and converted to ntfs...
Now, is there anything else I should do (i.e. turn off/on) to better XP...
Thanks for the help

Yeah, Un-Install it. XP Sucks Ass. You'll see after a while when it starts Screwing up.

Cost Drivers!!!!
I am not a fan of Microshaft but i don't understand what some of you are talking about. XP is by far the most stable and put together OS that MS has come out with to date....other than DOS.
Reboot/boot times alone are enough of a reason to upgrade. Yea some things are kinda odd but overall i think the OS is pretty good.
Things to turn-off. I'll send you a link via PM with services you can disable. They will help you make the OS much more secure and free up valuable system resources.

I don't recommend "upgrade packages" at all!!
redo the system (NTFS) and put the full regestered version of XP professional w/ SP1. You never get all the drivers and nothing ever configures right w/ those upgrades. IMO
I'm still finding good stability w/ 2000 Pro w/ SP3 on 2 of my systems.

I agree, I do like Windows 2K. I have never had any issues or stability with 2k Server or Advanced Server. That's what all my servers are running on, but the liscensing Fee's are a Killer these days.
