Windows File Protection Error...help Win2k
While on Win2000 computer here in school, all the computers get this "windows file protection error." Its only happening on Administrator accounts. Any ideas? It asks for a win2k cd and i put one in and says its invaild. help

try reloading a service pack. looks like either some protected file was replaced or your list of protected files is in need of updating..this may help you:

the error you're getting sounds like the PCs are looking for the ORIGINAL 2K installation disk. What i mean by original is the one that was used for the installation---NOT ANY 2K disk will work. we run into this a lot at work when something has been installed from the network or someone screws up an installation---windows tries to fix it but it need the original CD or network path to do so.
