Windows Easy Transfer and a previously transferred Account
Has anyone used Windows Easy Transfer a second time on an account?
My situation:
A user purchases new computer. I do the WET for the initial setup, but since he's coming from XP and super busy he ends up using his old computer almost exclusively, and his new computer has been only used for skype according to him. It has been nearly a year.
Now that it's summer and slower he wants to use the new computer but wants another transfer done. Does WET keep the latest file versions or does it overwrite everything (just in case he modified some of the same documents on the new computer).
Googling around isnt very conclusive.
To be on the safe side i just made a new local account (his main is on AD) and started a transfer. Worst case scenario is he'll have to log in to the local or we'll do a piecemeal copy/paste to his AD folder.
