Watch out Windows iPod Users, Apple is sending you Safari

If you aren't careful with your iPod updates Safari is going to get installed on your Windows machine.

http://www.macworld.com/article/1326...3/mozilla.html

Apple updated its Safari Web browser for Mac and Windows on Tuesday and offered the new version for download from its Web site. The company also began pushing the browser to Windows users — whether it was previously installed or not — via the Apple Software Update
BTW, I happen to like Safari on the mac but I prefer FF on Windows.

Thankfully Apple Software Update doesn't work on my computer, so I do all of my iPod updates through iTunes, and iTunes updates by manual download outside of ASU.

I installed it just to try it out, and it's not too bad.

Firefox is maintained by Mozilla (and is based on the same engine - Gecko), while Apple owns Safari which uses the KHTML engine.

By the way..Is there is a Mac program that lets you create a virtual CD drive so I can copy games to the OS without my son having put disks in and out?

I have both Safari and Firefox on my wife's MacBook and Firefox is way better. My work comp has Firefox as well and I have no plans on letting Apple install Safari on that computer either.

I have Firefox 3 Beta 4 on my MacBook Pro, and it's been great. No problems w/ stability, and it's super fast.

Easiest thing to do is to use disk utility to make a .dmg image of it. Then you can put that image file anywhere you like. To use it just double click. May not work if the disk has copy protection.
