Verizon vs Nextel, which is right for me?

Alright, so right now me and my friends all have normal cell phones and have basically no problems, but we see room for improvement. Everyone else is still on contract, but is going off in the next two months, and i have thrown the idea out there that we should all move to a PTT system, and my 3 closest friends think it’s a good idea, but one wants Nextel and I think Nextel is crap, but that’s kind of an uninformed statement.

I don’t need very technical help, we just want something that wont cost much more then we are paying (I believe we are all paying $40 right now).

Also keep in mind that I like my phone (3390) because of its size, and from what I see, the Nextel’s are large. Also, they aren't very clear. I don’t know how much better verizon is with that.

Thanks in advance for all of your help!

ptt on verizon looks like 60 bucks a month and nextel is very similar to that. nextel phones are rather large and so is the V60p on verizon.

Sprint has a walkie-talkie style service called Ready Link that is inexpensive, nationwide, works way better than Verizon, comparable to Nextel, way cooler phones.

vzw ptt has an 8-10 second delay. its recorded, sent, and than played back. sprints ptt still has alot of bugs...stick with nextel for now at least..the phones arent great, but the I730 is pretty nice....you can get it for like 150 if you look.....the service in upstate NY is good too..

I dont know why anyone would want PTT when all carriers offer free of for 4.99 unlimited m2m calls, meaning someone with a verizon phone can call another person with a verizon phone for free.

i have the same plan Nicky Pass, the plan is freakin great, i haven't gone over my minutes since i got it. I still have the i90 though and would like to upgrade. I'm happy with nextel and see no reason to change.

ill sell you my i95 for 5 bucks! its pretty beat up, but only 5 bucks! nextel is pretty good in the area, so is vzw, so its prettymuch personal preference... however, whatever you do, dont have your phone on speaker all the time when you 2 way people, so goddamn annoying

I don't think Sprint has anything in my area that favorably comparees to Verizon..

I don't know anybody here who still has Sprint. I think we've all tried it though.

Verizon PTT is the way to go.. In MD atleast.
