Well, 9 months after the FCC basically ordered Verizon to allow unlimited tethering on tiered data plans up to the amount of data purchased FOR NO FEE, Verizon is STILL gaming the system.

All tethering apps on non-rooted droid devices (and many others) EXCEPT the Verizon Hotspot app ($20/month additional) fail to work with JB update. Now, JB itself (minus Verizon) allows tethering just fine, so clearly IMO it's a factor of the software VZW is pushing with the update.

I talked to TeirII Verizon support and she had not even heard of the issue, had to put me on hold to look it up...

They are not allowed to block access to OR USE OF any app that allows tethering up to the allotted amount of data purchased.

Just an update, FoxFi now works on the Motorola devices running Jelly Bean:

On PDANet's website it says that the M doesn't work. However, people commenting on the Droid-Life article are saying it does work.

 

Check the play store. As of 4/13 FoxFi now works with JB on VZW phones.
