Hi everybody I am about to move to Europe ,i have fairly new Sony Ericson T610 phone (awesome phone btw) .I ordered a code and cable kit for it to unlock it for free access to all european service providers (as opposed to being locked into T-Mobile) .I was wondering if any of you had any experience with this sort of thing?( this is not a means to free service simply a means to be able to choose which provider I use ,it is a sim card phone)

Ya its easy, just use Div, Make sure u got a Terminator Dongle and not a normal Data Cable.

Easiest way is to call T-Mobile and they will give u a unlock code free of charge and Voila, but if you want to do it yourself, Terminator Dongle is the only way.

I would also flash to the newest firmware, because reception is improved and menus work faster and its a bit more stable, debrand too if you want

Thank you very much I orderd an unlock kit (cable and code) as T-Mobile will not unloch because I have not had service for a min of 90 days and will not be here long enough to furfill that time .Let you know how it goes .

How much did you pay for the Cable? it runs about $15 on ebay and the software I got links to.

 

I think I paid about 34 bucks for it and the code etc. .It's a rip off i guess but I want the thing to work properly and was not really looking to take a shot at dealing with E-bay and possible problems .
