Super weird issue I could use some help with.
Machine is a W7Pro, I7, 64GB RAM
Motherboard is a MSI x99A SLI Plus
Onboard NIC
Suddenly, as soon as the computer makes it's network connection to my switch, it goes to stabdby. It will wake once, then standby again and not recover.
This began with a PCI NIC a few eeks after loading updated INTEL NIC drivers for teaming, but persists even when the PCI NIC was removed and using the onboard LAN port only with original network driver.
I have:
1. disabled all power management features in the (now onboard) NIC
2. uninstalled the NIC and re-installed with fresh drivers from both MSI and Intell
3. run sfc/ scannow, no errors
4. Cleaned all registry issues with CCleaner
5. tried removing the switch and connecting with a different cable directly to the router, same effect
If I boot the machine without a network cable attached, it will boot and run fine.
If I boot the machine into Safe mode and connect a network cable, it stays connected and runs fine.
Any ideas?
Is it worth trying to repair the windows install with a Windows disc?

I don't have a USB NIC, but was going to grab a cheapo PCI nic in the next day or two to test out. Maybe USB is better...
Ultimately, I will need to replace the Mobo if that's the issue...

Well, USB NIC works fine.
I installed a dual port PCI NIC (intel) and set it up and it worked fine as well.
However, as soon as I installed the advanced driver features to allow VLAN and Teaming and tried to assign a static IP to the team (what I really wanted) it went back to the same shit show... USB NIC is back in and it's fine.
This works perfectly on an older Z77 motherboard...
