AT&T Wireless Rant

I moved from San Jose to Tracy in July and it took AT&T 3 months to get my "place of use" address correct for my family plan!!!!

I called them July 13th to change my address as well as the "place of use" address for all lines on my family plan.

The first bill after my change of address, all 5 lines had local taxes from San Jose. I called AT&T and they said that my "place of use" address wasn't changed correctly. So the rep updated it and that was that.

Second bill comes, 3 of my 5 lines still have the San Jose local taxes. I was a little peeved. I called AT&T and the rep said that everything on my account was set properly and that he can't do anything until the problem exists on 3 billing cycles. He assured me that their system would be fully updated by my next billing cycle. Ok, fine, whatever.

My bill comes today...3 of the 5 lines still have the friggin tax!! I call AT&T (of course) and the rep said that the "place of use" address wasn't changed on the 3 lines in question. I was like, WTF?! So, he updates everything, credits me for all the charges since July, and credits me the charges that will most likely show up on my next bill (since the "place of use" address change was done mid-cycle).

It's not the charges that are the problem...it's that it took them 3 billing cycles to get my "place of use" address correct!

Sign of the times. I remember what you went through getting the loan. Expect problems, document like you are doing and stay on it. Competance is hard to find and few people really give a shit about their jobs.

Worry about what you can control, have a nice life.

Ugh...sad, but true.

I'd like to think I'm one of the few who is the exception!

We'll see what my bill looks like in 2 months. I'm not going to waste energy over it any more until then. Hopefully AT&T got it right this time!

I've always had billing trouble with them when I've needed to make a change on my account (whether it be a feature change or information update).

My experience with the service itself has been fine....no complaints from me on the service end.

I don't think there has been but maybe one person that has switched to AT&T for the iphone that hasn't had a problem will their bills. As much as I want to have one, these stories keep me away from them.

I have had a Verizon account for over ten years, I have never had to call them about a billing problem.

I've never had an issue with my bills with At&t and I've had them since the day the iphone first came out.

And the one time I had an issue with my phone and called them, they credited my account back a full month's data plan.

I've had AT&T since 2004, and I've had various small billing issues throughout the years. To their credit, they were never random problems. The problems only came up when I made changes to my plan. They've been pretty good at eventually resolving my billing issues, so in the end things work out OK...it's just annoying.

I love Rollover minutes too much to switch, and most of the people I know also have cell service through AT&T, so I'm pretty much their customer for life. lol
