Storm 1 or wait it out for Storm 2?
Well I am due for an upgrade. My LG Venus is getting pretty beat up and I've already gone through 3. Anyway, I really like the Storm...but do you guys think I should wait for the Storm 2? I hear it will have WiFi which is a HUGE plus in my book. I feel that most of the bugs should be worked out as well.
Thoughts?

Well in my opinion the Storm is a huge disappointment. They would have to do a huge overhaul on the Storm 2 to make it even appealing to me. I'll be getting the Tour in July (expected release date) as it will be a real upgrade in my book. The Storm is just too quircky and they rushed it too much to market, which translates into a products that will give you problems. Its been 6 months since the last update from Verizon and honestly that leaves the worst tastes in peoples mouth. Sure there are "leaked" updates but even there are buggy at best......
If I were you I'd look at all other phones and at least wait till July to see if the new Tour is a device you will like.

Well I picked up a used 8830 World Edition for $75...I'm going to be traveling to the Czech Republic this summer. When I get home, a Tour will probably be what I purchase.

The Blackberry Tour is a mash-up of The 8900 (Javelin) and the Blackberry Bold. The only thing I don't like about it, is the keypad. Thery inherited the Bolds keypad. IMO the 8900 keypad is awesome. I sometimes miss that phone, but I actually like the current storm for texting and the beautiful screen.

My girlfriend has the 8900 on Tmobile and I think its a nice phone, but the buttons on the curve/javelin don't really do it for me.....way to clickety if thats a word. I had a 8830 and have tried the Bold in the AT&T store and really liked the keyboard. The tour is signaficantly smaller that the Bold and has a "smaller" version of its keyboard. I think I'll be a fan. The Storm was awesome for a few months, it just gets pretty annoying when you need to type out the occasional long email or text. You'll find yourself trying to learn all the abbreviations you can to save time typing.

^ It's all personal preference. I guess I was use to the first gen Blackberry curve, where the keypad was raised making it easier to text. I do however like the direction Blackberry is going with their phone designs.
I've had the Storm for about 3 weeks and have not gotten bored of it yet. I'm sure I'll be keeping till' next years Blackberry line.

my contract with Verizon up in about 4 months so I'm starting to look for a new smart phone on what Verizon working on.
pretty much the only 2 that i'm looking at is the Stom 2 and HTC Atlas.
the reason i said no regular Stom I've talked to a lot of people with it they've had a lot of issues with it. so I'm thinking Blackberry learned their lesson.
the HTC Atlas. I think it has a better track record than the Storm 2. HOWEVER its kind of retarded with the slide open keyboard.
they've ran it on T-mobile's network for 2 years. now their just bring it over to Verizon.

I was talking about the "Blackberry Atlas". I think this is just a codename but it MAY BE like a Tour with WiFi and a little more bells and whistles.
Sounds like the Atlas may be the Storm 2 though....guess we will have to wait and see

I'd say wait until you get back from your vacation and see the phones when they come out. Since you aren't in immediate need for a new phone, I'd definitely wait for the Storm 2 over the current Storm since you said WiFi is a big plus for you.

I read about that! This would be awesome but it seems unlikely to come out anytime soon, if ever.

Rumor is that Apple just hired many CDMA engineers to work on a CDMA version of the iPhone. Their contract with att is up sometime in '10 at which point it might become available to Verizon.

Actually I read that article wrong. They might be getting away from the click screen but they will have some other sort of pressure sensitive screen that will still be called SurePress.
