2. It would set the backlight to the darkest on its own (for both on battery and on power). So sometimes, I was trying to hard to turn it on in broad day light, then I realized that it is on just that the screen is in dimmest mode!!!

Anyone else have those problems? Thanks
Back your stuff up and get the phone re fleashed. somehow you must have gotten the older firmware which had those problems. Also you can combat the screen turning on by setting it to turn off after a few minutes when plugged in.

where can you check the firmware version? where do you get it reflashed, at a service center? or can you download the software and do it yourself using the USB data cable?

^^^ nevermind, i found where to get the software..

it's basically on the sprint website after you login to your account. You view the "phone details" for your phone, and click the download software link and it will list all the software for "Windows Mobile (CE)" after you select it from the drop down list

However, this firmware update is dated march of 06 so most of the phones out today may already have that pre-installed.

alright i just had a recent problem with my phone. dead center of the screen is no longer responsive to my stylus or touch in general. i have not dropped it or anything. I tried to allign the screen but that won't work because the first thing you're supposed to touch with your stylus is in the center of the screen. any sollutions? also, there is no scratches or dents of any form where it's unresponsive

Actually guys it's a Windows CE feature that wakes up the phone it's activesync. The firmware will help. But it will still wake up on it's own every once in awhile. You have to disable Activesync's connections to totally stop the phone from waking.

Go Microshaft!

In case you missed my earlier posts...

A MUST DOWNLOAD and install is "magic button". It makes CE act like XP.
http://www.trancreative.com/mb.aspx

In case some of you didn't know, when you click the "X" to close the app. It's not really closing it, it's just minimizing it. Want to see all of the apps you have running chewing up memory?
start->settings->system (tab at bottom)- >memory->running programs (tab at bottom)

Magic Button will show all of your running apps on the task bar like in XP with tiny icons, it will also change the "X" to actually close the app if you want it too.

Another download would be TCPMP for CE. 100% free movie player, plays near everything.
http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/about

I also use Opera as a browser instead of IE. It supports tabs and javascript natively.

Try removing the battery for 30 seconds and cold boot the phone. Otherwise get it swapped out.

If you have a Sprint phone you can download the firmware from Sprint's website after you login.

Well I can tell you the BT USB dongle I bought got flaky after 6 weeks of use

The blue LED light no longer works, and the phone disconnects randomly from it

It's from "kensington"

This happened with mine. Brought it to Sprint, and they swapped it out. The annoying thing was they told me that they could not port all of my data onto the new phone. I had to make sure that everything was synced up, and get all my data from a new sync with the computer when I got home.

lol, What sly posted is a link to Windows Mobiles 6 for the 6700!

It's going to be released tomorrow (Friday).

Thus making your 6700 into a 6800. But even one better, it'll have a newer release of WM6 than the 6800 has...

And once a WM6 kitchen gets released they'll be even less of a want for a 6800. As you can cook your own custom ROM with a kitchen. I run my own WM5 ROM on my 6700 now...

^^^ Cool, post your results.

I should be getting my 6800 today. My phone is acting all wacko now. I took it apart to fix the button but couldn't. And the problem is just getting worse, it has a mind of it's own and does whatever it wants if the screen isn't locked.

I'm thinking about getting a hammer and beating the shyt out of it after I get my 6800 working and the data off the 6700. Of course I also thought about recording the mayhem and putting it on youtube.

I;ve had my 6700 for over a year. I've also been a member of ppcgeeks for quite some time. If it wasn't for them, I'd have gotten the new 6800 already. I love my 6700 with all the roms these people have cooked up.

I'll be updating to WM6 after more people start to use it. I'm not gonnn be the guinea pig

I'm currently running a Clean and Simple rom from Jeff Kirvin. It's freaking awesome.

I ran skype, orb with live tv streaming, siriuce, slingplayer, and some other apps and it's running smooth and faster than ever before. Just to let you guys know, i have my Sprint PPC6700 with WM 6.0 and a 2 gig card with all original packaging on sale for 250 + shipping in the for sale forum.
